When I was just a little girl, I would watch the seconds fall away like leaves from a tree in autumn. The little time clock that protruded from my left wrist, counting down; years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds. It counted down until I met my soulmate. I wondered what he would look like, how he talked, if he's going to be smart, even what were his hobbies?

My mother would tell me stories about how she met her soulmate, my father. It always would fascinate me, "How did you feel?" I would ask every time she told the story and I always got the same answer: "You will find out when you're older. There isn't any words to describe it."

When I was little that answer was fine but as I grew up that answer grew insufficient and I begged for more. However, she has never gave in and has never told me.

Enough about my past, let's fast forward to the present; I'm 16 years old, my name is Leah, and I'm pretty un-extraordinary. I live in a small town called Brackenridge on the west coast of the United States, placed right on the beach and I'm a junior at Brackenridge High. Oh! And this year is when I get to meet my soulmate destined by the watch embedded in my skin. I mean it's not a big beal or whatever everyone has a time clock but why I'm scared but excited? Nervous but at the same time not? I'm just a complete jumbled mix of emotions. My mom is right... I can't describe how I feel right now, how am I going to feel when I actually meet him?
