I walk through the halls of Abigail Adams High School, searching for Lucas. I just got to New York, about an hour ago. The crowded halls make me nervous. I may not find him.

The crowd clears once I get to my locker. The only people in here are two girls, one brunette, and one blonde, and a boy with caramel hair.

I open my locker, only to see that a note pops out.

'Dear Alissa,

I am so excited for you to be going to school with me after all these years of separation. Looking forward to seeing you in class.

-Lucas'

I put away most of the items from my book bag, into my locker. All that's left is a journal, a folder, a pack of sharpened pencils, and a picture of Lucas and I, the day before he left to come here. To New York.

I turn around, only to see one person added to the group of three people that was there when I started unpacking my stuff. Lucas.

"Lucas!" I say as I run straight for him.he grabs onto me, and I jump, landing with my thighs on his hips, and my arms around his neck.

"I missed you so much." He tells me.

"I did too. I couldn't go a second without missing you." I tell him.

I jump off of his hips, and look at the brunette. She just stares at us, like she feels hurt, and runs off.

I look at Lucas with a questioning face, and his is filled with pain. The pain that she may have misunderstood something.

And her misunderstanding is a horrible one.
