My perspective on the tall trees and eerie lights drastically changed as I made my way along the sidewalk path. My mom and Percy were fighting again and I decided to step out and get some air, little did I know that I would be lost.

The scenery that I once knew in daylight was now suspended in darkness. The trees contained little to no leaves as the alley filled with unknown humming. The aged tree that I used to favor, now hung crookedly in the shadows; its shape becoming harder to recognize.

Even the moon that I cherished so deeply; looked now spiteful as it suspended in the sky. I decided to hum along with the unknown creatures and pulled my blue sweater tighter around me. I was taken aback by the low pitched shriek that was hosted in the park across the street. I perked my eyes forward but my body did not follow.

If someone was screaming, shouldn't I avoid that place? I trailed my attention to my converse as I bit my upper lip; my mind racing. I heard yet another shrill and my attention quickly adjusted to the park once more. Someone was in trouble. And I don't think I was needed in my house at the moment. Without thinking I began to jog across the street. The sidewalk trailed in a downhill path, making it easier for me to arrive to my destination. My curiosity got the best of me as I began to make my way to the park.

I hid behind the dumpster lot where the view was to my benefit. My eyes scanned the scene as I saw a man, who I assumed was making the loud cries.

He was pinned down by a few other males as the city's light beamed down on them. They looked young and infuriated. Blinking, I tried to comprehend what was going on. I could tell that the male wasn't going anywhere.

A shiny object caught my eye as I see one of the male's holding it. They weren't really going to do anything...were they? The male holding the weapon in his grasp, held it firmly and used his free hand to remove the curls from his face. Despite his scrunched features, he overall looked...interesting.

My thoughts vanished as he thrusted the object in the man's stomach, making the jumpy male wail. A small gasp escaped my lips as I instantly covered my small hand to my eyes.

Did he just...?! I had always watched action movies but this was much different. The way the red pooled out of him as his eyes lost their lust. The man parted his lips as he emptied his lungs with a cry.

My head was spinning as I heard them mumble among themselves. Mouth becoming dry, I grew a bit shaky. My arm began to spazz everywhere. It hit one of the cans in back of me, making the lid pop off the large trash can and it was acquainted by a loud bang on the concrete.

I couldn't be serious?

Their attention came toward my direction. My eyes widened as fear clogged my senses. The big recycle bins placed in front of me seemed as if they disappeared.

"Looks like we aren't the only ones here after all." The curly haired male splattered a smirk on his face as they lingered toward my path.

Forcing my legs up, I bolted out of my concealed area, which really didn't allow much help anymore. A few seconds later I could hear harsh pattering on the concrete floor but it could have been my ears that began to pump as my adrenaline throbbed in my veins; but I didn't dare look back.

I dashed straight toward the woods. The darkness in that area scared me to death but I had no choice to see where else to go. Maybe the males following me thought that it wouldn't be worth it. I was never an athlete but one of the things I was good at, was running. Sprinting in the direction of the woods, I daringly glanced back to see if they were still chasing me.

To my surprise I was only encountered with one male, the curly one. The rest must have given up from the loss of breath and worn muscles. I could feel myself wear out when I saw the male's green eyes screwed on my face.
