Her POV
(Current)

That was 3 years ago.

That fight between her parents had led to a large argument, a divorce and a large court case.

Her mum had won the custody and agreed to let her father have custody over her every second weekend.

At her father's she was scared. He now lived in a small 2 bedroom flat in the middle of no where.

But her room was big. And at night the lights from the pasting cars would shine on her windows reflecting on her walls as ghosts.

But she had wanted to be a brave girl that her father could be proud of. So each night that she spent at his flat, She would roll over and face the wall while clutching her teddy bear tight, ignoring the shadows.

It was during one of her stays that he had asks her if she would like to have a new step mummy. She loved her father very much. She had wished that he would be happy. She wanted him to have someone there who would watch him when she could not.

So when he asked her that question, she foolishly agreed with a smile. To this day that decision still haunts her.

On her next visit to her father, she was meet with a strange woman. She had long red hair. And she seemed like a good person. She was the beautiful princess in the stories, that marries the prince and they have a happily ever after.

Unfortunately, she was more like the evil queen from Snow White or the evil step-mother from Cinderella.

Anyway, her father introduced this new woman as his girlfriend. At first, the young girl had wanted to play with this woman and test her love for the young girl's father.

Later though, after many tries at breaking the woman interest in her father, the young girl gave up. The young girl had thought that this woman will be the one to make my father happy.

Little did she know, that that woman had 2 daughters already, and the young girl was going to be the eldest of the bunch.

Her father and the woman eventually got married and had two children together.

Meanwhile, the young girls mother started her own relationships.

Her mother had found a man that lived 400km away. He was a gentleman with a job that payed well. He would often visit and bring gifts for both of the girls.

His gifts would be little things like bracelets and jewellery to big things like a plane ticket for the pair of them. He would spare no expense to please the girls.

The girls loved him with all of their hearts.

And when he could be there for the little girl, he would write post cards and send letters asking all different types of things like how her day was, how her mother was doing and so on.

During one his trips to visit her and her mother, the man took both of them to a fancy restaurant. After they had ordered the meals, the man and her mother turned to the girl with a serious yet excited look.

"Honey" her mother had started. "How would you like to have a new dad around the house?"

This is the same situation that her father had put her in.

Did she chose to risk her happiness if this man turned out to not be the man she thought he was or did she chose to let her mother have the happiness she deserved.

The young girl thought long and hard about this question. Her brain thinking over the consequences and advantages.

She eventually looked into her mothers eyes and said "As long as you are happy"

Her mother smiled a smile that reached her eyes. He turned away from the woman to look at the young girl.

"Thank you sweetheart"

The man was now to be her new step father.
