Never had I seen a family quite that large before. There were people everywhere I looked, with almost any appearance you could imagine. There was a table of spiders drinking from teacups, three goat people standing around and chatting, a human sulking in the corner giving dirty looks to one of the goat people, a robot talking with a ghost, and many other strange scenarios. I even saw the fish and lizard girls from the sketch I found on Risk's desk that one morning.
And then I noticed the skeleton talking to Risk. He was wearing strange round white chestplate with a strange red emblem on it. He had tight black sleeves over his arms and tight black leggings over his legs. His hands had red gloves ringed with gold. His scarlet boots shined so much that it looked like they had and aura of red, and the straps on them gleamed a rich black. He also had a circular blue base lined with gold around his hips. And of course there was his scarf. It was the same shade as his boots, and flowed out down and behind his back. His stance was high, so I could tell he was a very confident person.
His voice was high pitched and valiant, with an accent I could not recognize. Then he noticed me.
I didn't have the slightest idea of how to start a conversation with him, but luckily, Risk helped me out.
"Oh! Papyrus, I want you to meet Emerson Brine, my newest friend."
"You can call me End." I said, trying to keep my cool.
It's hard to stay calm when there is a very tall skeleton in armor standing right in front of you. Of course, I matched his height easily, but he came closer to being as tall as me more than anyone else I had ever met.
"Hello End, my name is The GREAT PAPYRUS!" He held out his gloved hand for me to shake, so I did.
I met her family, one person at a time. Slowly, I began to make sense of her complicated family tree. Her dad was Asriel, one of the three goat people I saw earlier, and her mom is Frisk, a fallen human. There is another fallen human, which is Risk's aunt, Chara. Chara is Asriel's adopted sibling. We weren't introduced because Chara is an "antisocial psychopath".
Toriel and Asgore, the other two goat people, are Risk's grandparents, Asriel's parents, and Chara's adopted parents. They had a divorce, and Toriel got married to Sans. Which brings me to the skelebros. Sans and Papyrus. They are Risk's step-grandpa and step-granduncle. BUT THE FAMILY TREE ONLY GETS WORSE FROM HERE.
Flowey came into the picture after Asriel and Chara had died. I'm not going to explain the full story of his creation right now because it is too long and I don't entirely understand it. What I do understand and have time for is that Flowey has Asriel's memories, and doesn't have a soul. I'm not sure how one would describe how Flowey is related to Risk, so I won't.
Next is the fish and lizard girls, Undyne and Alphys. Ever since they met, they both had a thing for each other, but it was Frisk, Risk's mom that truly brought them together. However, they are not directly related to anyone else in the family.
Then there is Mettaton, Napstablook, and Mad Dummy, who are cousins. They were all originally ghosts, but Mettaton became corporeal as a robot, and Mad Dummy became corporeal with a training dummy, leaving Napstablook to run the Blook family snail farm all on their own.
After learning all these facts and meeting all those people, Risk led me over to Sans so we could be introduced. He lay relaxed on a blue sofa near the wall farthest from the door. There was a coffee table in front of him, and two chairs on the right and left of the table.
Just like his brother he is a skeleton, but almost everything else about him is the opposite of Papyrus. Where Papyrus is tall and lean, Sans is short and on the chubby side. Where Papyrus has a high pitched voice, Sans has a low pitched voice. Where Papyrus stands confidently and proud, Sans sits slumped over and sad, despite his big smile. Paps wears a red scarf, Sans wears a blue jacket. Paps wears boots, Sans wears pink slippers. Paps has a big ego, but not a lot of friends, while Sans could care less about his ego, and is one of the most popular monsters in Undertale. He sat up when he saw Risk and I approaching.
