I had to do something to stop them from getting anywhere near my family. I pulled out a pocket knife and waited for them to attack. They gave me evil stares. I smiled big with a hint of hate and threw it straight into the the man's chest. The brunette man ran to his side then glanced at me with anger raging through his body.
He was about to charge me when all of a sudden my knife was lodged in his mid back. I looked up to see my father standing over his body.
"Nobody messes with my family."
"Daddy, I told you to run and wait till I could come find you."
"I had a feeling that you were in trouble sweet pea."
"I can't stay daddy. I have to run. It's the only way that I can protect you from what's out there. You can't stay either. I'll buy you plane tickets to NJ. There you'll find a man in a suit waiting for you, he'll take you to a safe zone. I can't let you get hurt. I have to leave now."
"But Jennifer -"
I cut him short as I ran out the front door. I had to protect my family. No matter what. This was the only way.
