Gaara POV
I am sitting in my home office when I hear the door open. I turn around and see my wife and 4 year old daughter standing in the doorway. "Daddy will you tell me a story?" Hana asks me. "Of course Hana," I say and walk over to her. I bend down and pull her into my arms. I stand up and carry her down the hallway to her yellow bedroom. I lay her down and tuck her under the blankets, "Are you nice and cozy?" I ask and ruffle her ginger hair. "Stop daddy," she giggles and pats her hair down.
I sit down on the edge of the bed with Elizabeth on the other side. "What kind of story do you want honey?" I ask her. "Love story!" She shouts eagerly. "You're in luck then, I know the best love story out of all of them," I say. Her face lights up with excitement. "This is the tale of a hurt warrior and the women who showed him light," I begin. "The young warrior was known through out the lands as a great and powerful man and the women was known only by few." "The warrior was told to help the women get back home after visiting his village." "At first the warrior thought this would just be an easy mission with some annoying girl but then he realized he was wrong." "How did he realize that?" Hana asks curious. "Well, this girl wasn't ordinary, she was special, she had something called light, but the warrior was filled with dark."
"I thought you said he was great, how could he be great if he was dark?" She questions with a concerned look on her face. "Dark is very powerful. It can make someone stronger or break them down. In the Warriors case, it did both, while his body got stronger, his emotions suffered. Does that make sense?" I ask her. "I..think so," she replies. "Okay, back to the story." "As the two were traveling the warrior noticed that the women was very kind and caring, but the darkness prevented him from seeing how awesome she really was." "The women saw the darkness in the warrior and attacked it with her light. She did everything to shine the light and eliminate the darkness for good. The light fought hard and long then eventually won."
"The warrior felt her battle the dark and was shocked when the light won the spar, the warrior was eternally grateful to the women." "He finally realized how perfect the women was. It was like his eyes had been closed and she was the one who opened them." "He fell in love with the women and she fell in love with him. They finished the journey and lived happily ever after." I finish the story as Hana begins to fall asleep.
"I like that story daddy," she murmurs. "So do I sweet heart," I whisper as I lean down and kiss her on the forehead. Her eyes close and she starts to fall asleep. Elizabeth and I stand up and walk out of the room. Elizabeth leaves the door cracked, just like Hana likes it. We walk to our bedroom down the hall and close the door. Elizabeth lays down on the bed as I change into my sleeping clothes.
I crawl under the covers with her and put my arm around her. "I liked that story tonight," she says and looks up at me. "It's my favorite to tell," I say. She laughs quietly and puts her hand on my face. I lean down and kiss her lips for a few moment, pulling her into me. I pull away and shift so she is leaning against my chest and holding my hand. Elizabeth pulls my hand up and kisses it softly. "How did I get so lucky?" She asks. "I'm the lucky one, believe me," I say and kiss the top of her head. I lay down and she lays her head on my chest to sleep. "Good night Gaara, I love you," she whispers into my chest. "I love you too Elizabeth."
