(Firey's POV)
"Where are we going" I asked my speaker box. We were flying slower than when I was riding on top of Puffball, so it was taking us a lot longer to get to Yoyel land than it did last time I went there.
"The only place I can think of where no one will try to kill us."
"Which is?" I wasn't even that interested. I was just so bored that I decided to ask.
"Yoyel land."
I felt like I was about to die of a heart attack in mid air like Woody.
" WHAT? We can't go there!"
"Well, it's not like either of us have a choice." It was impossible for me to argue with his logic. It was like arguing with myself.
I tried to think of some other place we could go to avoid the others. Any other place. But my speaker box was right, this was the only place we could go without being killed. At least, by the other contestants.
We flew in silence, neither of us knowing exactly when we were going to get there. It was really long and boring. I fell asleep. When I woke up, I saw bushes filled with juicy purple fruit as far as I could see; yoyelberries. We were in Yoyelland. I could see Yoyel city and even Yoyel mountain if I looked carefully enough.
"We're here." My speaker box announced.
I climbed off of the top of my speaker box and sat back down. I wanted to be anywhere, as long as it wasn't here. I tried to close my eyes and cover my ears to block out all the thoughts I knew I was going to have that I've been trying so hard to avoid. It didn't work. Just being anywhere near the place she used to be was enough to make me feel sick. The reason why though, I had no idea.
My mind kept playing the scene before her death over and over and I couldn't make it stop.
"Why don't you leave me alone?!" I shrieked.
Suddenly I felt something hard and cold smack against the side of my face. I was stunned. I had completely forgotten that I gave my speaker box arms.
"Stop it! If you don't pull yourself together, I'll take you to the other contestants and let them deal with you!" I was getting angry.
"I thought I made you better than this!"
"And I'm sure that's what your parents have thought about you your entire life."
"HEY!"
Then my speaker box had the nerve to turn around and walk away.
"Where do you think you are going?"
"To pick some yoyelberries and find shelter, like any normal object would do under our circumstances." it said before it walked off.
"Dumb speaker box." I muttered.
(Firey's Speaker Box's POV)
I can't believe an object like Firey created me. When I was first created, we were the exact same, but after BFDI, we both started to change. Firey started to become much more selfish and self-centered, while I became much more self aware.
I still can't believe what he's done to Leafy... But maybe that's just part of how similar Firey made me to be like himself when I was created. I still care about Leafy, but not the way Firey used to. I care about her like you would a close friend, probably because of the way Firey created me.
Maybe I haven't changed. Maybe I'm not capable of it because I'm a speaker box. Or maybe Firey never was anything like me. Maybe he created me to be the same object as the one who he was pretending to be. After everything I've seen him do, I just don't know if I can believe anything he says.
I wish I could have left him there. He could have died, but I couldn't bring myself to let my creator be destroyed. He was the closest thing to a father I've ever had and ever will have. No, father isn't the right word. He was more like the stupid older brother that I had to keep an eye on.
I still have no idea why he created me in the first place.
I hopped over to the nearest Yoyelberry bush and began to pick Yoyelberries and put them on top of me. There were plenty of Yoyelberry bushes that grew Yoyelberries rapidly year-round. I could definitely see why Leafy chose to come here. There were plenty of yoyelberries to eat and no one ever came here. I I continued to collect Yoyelberries until there weren't any left on the bush and hid my arms inside myself. Now to deal with the 'stupid older brother.'
(Firey's POV)
I didn't know what to do when my speaker box left, so I just sat and waited. I didn't notice when I fell asleep. When I woke up, I saw my speaker box roasting Yoyelberries on a stick above my head.
"Hey! I'm not you're oven!"
"Food's done." My speaker box said in response.
I ate in silence. My speaker box was solar powered, so it didn't need to eat. After I was done eating, I looked at the stars, then fell back asleep.
. . .
It was nighttime and I was staring at the stars. I don't remember why, but I remember thinking about how cool stars were and how I wanted to see the sun in person.
"The stars sure are nice, aren't they Firey?" said a familiar voice next to me.
"Uh... yeah. I was just wondering what it's like on the sun."
"Really? Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, you know, with you being made of fire and all."
"What would you wanna see if you could go anywhere?" I asked the object next to me.
"Me? Oh, uh, I don't know. Probably the Summit of Yoyel mountain."
"Well, why don't we go? You know, after BFDI."
"Really? Then yeah! Let's do it!"
END OF CHAPTER
Well, there's the first couple of chapters. (Although I'm not sure you can call that first part a chapter, since that first part was so short) So far, this fanfic has been kinda interesting for me to write. I hope that's not a sign that it's actually just really, really bad. I'm on summer break, so I'll have the next chapter up soon.
Thanks for reading!!
