Two: Sixteen
-Sixteen-
On her sixteenth birthday
She was found
Curled up on the bathroom floor
Eyes still red and puffy
Smudged mascara fresh on her face
But with a silent heart
And dead eyes.
On her sixteenth birthday
She was found
After taking an oddly long time
Getting ready to go out to dinner.
She'd put light makeup on: her favorite lipgloss and mascara
Her hair was curled,
And she looked beautiful
In her new dress
That was now stained with blood.
But on her sixteenth birthday
She was found
Curled up
Lifeless
On the bathroom floor.
I guess all her candles
Blew out too soon.
Just sixteen years to the day
Was spent on this Earth
Until she gave up trying to be okay.
Her whole life ahead of her
Tragically cut short
By a broken heart
That couldn't see the point in beating anymore.
