It's not Halloween time. Whatever. And begin.
——————————————————It was a dark and stormy night...well more like a dark and thunderstorm filled night. Sadly, this night just had to be Halloween. Six friends, Mikey Way, Alex Gaskarth, Andy Biersack, Brendon Urie, Patrick Stump, and Gee Way, were all planning to go trick or treating but that was put down after the storm started. They were at Patrick’s house while the storm went on. But, they were home alone because Patrick’s parents were out on a business trip.
“This is officially the worst Halloween ever,” Mikey pouted. Andy and Gee looked at each other and sighed as a sign of some sort of sullen agreement.
Brendon and Andy had the wheels in their head turning. “Let’s play Truth or Dare!” they shouted at the same time.
“Awe come on, you guys are all going to dare us to do stupid stuff,” Patrick said.
“Patrick, you never pick dare anyways. It’s not like it’s going to matter anyway,” Andy stated.
“Fine, I’ll play.” Patrick hated games like these. He would much rather be playing a card game like Go Fish or Speed.
“OOH I WANT TO GO FIRST! SOMEONE ASK ME TRUTH OR DARE!!!” Brendon was being his normal self.
“Alright Bren, tru-” Andy did not get to finish the question before Brendon shouted, “DARE!”
“Um...I dare you to...uh...go inside the asylum for five minutes! You know, the one a couple blocks down,” Andy said after thinking for a little bit.
“Woah, wait what? I’m not doing that,” Brendon said a bit scared.
“You have to do it! It’s the rules of the game”
“But I don’t want to.“ I’m not going into an abandoned asylum especially on Halloween!”
“But that’s where all the ghosts are!” Gee exclaimed. “Ghosts are cool. Except when they are mean ghosts because mean ghosts can hurt you. Did you know-” Gee rambled on about ghosts. The only one actually paying any attention to him was Mikey. While that was going on, Brendon and Andy start to shout at each other and Alex was trying to break them up.
“COME ON YOU HAVE TO!” Andy yelled stubbornly.
“I DON’T WANT TO!” Brendon was being equally stubborn.
“Guys, stop fighting! Andy, shut up!” Alex was trying to stay calm but he was close to losing it too. “Brendon, you don’t have to do the dare if you’re scared.”
This offended Brendon greatly. Apparently to him, being pronounced as scared is really hurtful.
“I AM NOT AFRAID! I’LL DO THE DARE!” he screamed. “Well, I’ll do it on one condition. I take two people with me. And I choose Gee and Patrick!”
“WHAT?!” Patrick yelled in fear. “Brendon, why did you choose me? You know I don’t like spooky stuff.”
“Oh lighten up! We’ll get through,” he tried to say confidently though his voice wavered a bit.
“Well, we can’t go in this rain. So I guess we’ll all just have to wait around for a while until we all forget about this…”
“Patrick, the rain stopped a while ago.”
Patrick ran to look outside the window. “Oh wow, Mother Nature.” he thought. “Thanks for the big help.”
“Patrick, come on it might be fun!” Gee said. “We can look for ghosts or spiders!”
“Uh, no thanks Gee. That’s your thing.”
He shrugged then went over to Mikey. “Hey Mikey, you think I can catch a ghost?”
“Definitely Gee! We’ll examine it together because you and I can’t do it on our own, right?”
“Yeah. But don’t worry. We’ll catch a ghost for examining.”
Later in the night, Gee, Brendon, and Patrick were mostly ready to complete the dare. Andy was trying to coax Patrick out of the bathroom. “Come on, you only have to step in for five minutes!” Andy said.
“But a lot can happen in just five minutes! We could all die or something, I don’t know,” Patrick said worriedly.
“We’ll be okay, I promise,” Gee said. He was looking forward to the asylum trip because he had a strange obsession with ghosts.
“Ugh, yeah yeah whatever…” Patrick was not very excited for this trip. He had a very bad feeling about it.
All six friends went to the asylum and by now, even Brendon was having second thoughts. “M-m-m-maybe we shouldn’t do this. I mean, we don’t even know what l-l-lurks in there.” he said shakily.
Andy had a bad feeling too, but he tried to ignore it. He didn’t want to show he was scared. “Brendon, don’t worry,” Gee tried to reassure his jittery friend even though he was a little frightened himself. “It’s just for five minutes.”
Brendon wasn’t so sure. But being the person he was, he also tried not to show it. Patrick was just dead on scared. He did not like spooky things, with the exception of Halloween. Gee was frightened but he tried to distract himself by talking to Mikey about ghosts. Andy felt a little bit guilty for daring his friends to do this. He didn’t know why he had told them to do it and he didn’t exactly expect them to. Andy really wanted his friends to be okay. Alex was listening to music but he felt bad his friends had to do this. He felt very bad for Patrick because he knew Patrick hated anything that made him scared. Mikey also felt bad for his friends and brother (Gee). But he was so transfixed on Gee’s ramble about ghosts that he barely noticed the fear.
The three boys took a deep breath and walked into the asylum together. However, they did not notice the hidden presence above them. This presence was the ghost of one of the patients who used to “stay” at the asylum. He was a schizophrenic who tried to kill people and had anger issues. In accordance to his issues, he was angered by the presence of the three boys. He stalked them waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The ghost looked to see which of the boys seemed the most vulnerable. He chose Patrick or in the ghost’s description of him, “the scared little one who looks like he doesn’t want to be here.” The ghost waited and waited until he saw the perfect opportunity.
Patrick leaned over to tie his shoe. The ghost struck from behind his back and before Patrick could say a word, he was possessed. Patrick couldn’t feel or do anything on his own free will. He was completely taken over but none of the boys noticed a thing. Gee was too busy looking for ghosts, which was a bit ironic as there was one right behind him and Brendon was trying to distract himself from the bad vibes he got from the asylum. The two boys soon realized that the possessed Patrick was not moving. Still believing he was his normal self, Brendon and Gee were curious as to why he stopped.
“Um, Patrick?” Brendon inquired. “Why are you just standing there?”
“Yeah, are you okay?” Gee asked.
The ghost realized he would have to say something so that the two boys would suspect nothing. “Oh, yeah I’m fine,” he said in Patrick’s voice. He realized he sounded too confident and wasn’t acting the part of the scared little boy he saw earlier. “ Just needed to, uh, tie my shoe. I’m still r-really scared, though.”
The boys were relieved and continued walking. Little did they know that the ghost had found a knife left from the abandoned kitchen and was hiding it behind his back. The ghost looked through Patrick’s memories to gain insight on how to finish off the “silence destroyers” as he called Gee and Brendon. He found that Gee was obsessed with supernatural things and Brendon was very prideful. The ghost decided to get to Gee first because he knew exactly what to say.
“Hey Gee, come here,” the ghost said. “I think I’ve found you your ghost!”
“Really?” Gee asked with excitement. “Tell me where!”
“Why?” the ghost said with a smirk. “I’m right here.” Gee couldn’t process what was happening until too late. The ghost had slit his throat with the knife and Gee soon ceased to breathe.
“Finally,” the ghost thought. “I’ll soon have my peace and quiet. Now to find the prideful one.”
Brendon was a bit unsettled in all the eeriness. He wondered why he didn’t hear Patrick’s small sobs or Gee’s rambles about ghosts anymore. Brendon was a bit scared but the five minutes were nearly up. In just thirty seconds, he would be out of this place. Sadly, he didn’t notice the ghost creeping behind him and when the knife struck, Brendon was dead. The ghost was happy. Two down, one to go.
“WOAH!” Patrick yelled as he stumbled a bit. The ghost had let him free of his control but he was planning a sneak attack on Patrick. Patrick took a few small steps before he saw the worst sight ever. Gee and Brendon were taped to the wall, dead. Patrick nearly screamed but the ghost got him first. The scream was never finished.
Meanwhile, Mikey, Alex, and Andy had noticed the five minutes were up. Where were their friends? They all knew none of them wanted to stay in there longer than the given time.
“Maybe they got lost,” Alex suggested. “The asylum is kind of big.”
“That’s true,” Andy said. “But if they don’t come out in a few minutes, we’ll have to call the police.”
Mikey didn’t like that idea. He was sure if the police came, his brother wouldn’t help him with ghostly things anymore. They might get arrested for disturbing the peace or something like that. But being the quiet person he was, he said nothing.
A few minutes had passed. The three friends were getting really worried. They had already tried contacting their friends multiple times. Andy finally decided to call the police when he realized his friends were in trouble and weren’t going out of the asylum anytime soon. The policeman arrived shortly after the call.
“Why is there only one of you?” Alex inquired.
“You never know if you’re friends are just trying to trick you,” the policeman said with a grin.
Andy was annoyed. “THIS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER MY FRIENDS WOULD NEVER STAY IN AN ASYLUM LONGER THAN THEY HAD TO!” Andy yelled at the policeman.
“Okay, okay!” the policeman muttered. “Geez, calm down kid.” He went inside the asylum with his flashlight out. After walking around for a bit, he saw a message on the wall that said, “YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE COME HERE. WHATEVER. LOOK UP.” The policeman was scared now and what he saw terrified him so much. It was the bodies of Gee, Brendon, and Patrick, all taped to the ceiling. The policeman screamed in terror. Then suddenly, quicker than the flash-
“AAHHHHHH!” Patrick, Gee, Brendon, Andy, Alex, and Mikey all screamed at the same time, waking up from their place on Patrick’s living room floor. They all looked at each other. “Wait, why are you screaming?” they said simultaneously.
Each person explained that they had had a dream about an asylum and Gee, Brendon, and Patrick were dead in it.
“So, we all had the same dream?” Alex asked curiously.
“I guess so,” Gee said. Mikey nodded his head. “Darn. I wanted to meet a ghost.”
Everyone except Mikey looked at Gee strangely. After an awkward silence, they all started laughing. Then they went downstairs to eat pumpkin pancakes because it was Halloween.THE END...well, most likely not.
