Journey Through Mysterious Eyes

The Girl

    The next day, Dally and I arrive to school earlier than usual. When we pull into the school's parking lot, Bella is patiently waiting for Dally. I get a little jealous because I wish I had someone who would wait for me. He immediately jumps out of the car and sort of sprints towards her.

    Immediately following Dally's departure, I notice a girl. She seems a little off, but in a good way. I have never noticed her before, so I'm assuming she's new. She gives me a quick glance then fastly paces in the opposite direction.

    "Class," My Spanish teacher, Mr. Ramone, begins to speak after the bell rings for his class to begin. "We have a new student. Everyone, this is Marley," I immediately zone him out and lock my eyes onto the girl So, Marley? I like the sound of that. I analyze her familiarity and realize she's the girl I spotted in the hallway just a couple hours earlier into the day.  She darts to the back of the room where there's a ton of empty seats. I'm the only one who sits in the back row because no one in this school ever wants to interact with me. She plops down two seats away from me and I can't help but to be a tiny bit excited. Do you think she'll be my partner for projects? I've never had a partner before.

    My mind continues on with it's thoughts for so long that I don't even hear the bell ring for dismissal. Luckily my next class isn't too far, so I don't have to worry about being late. I notice the girl, Marley, slowly walking behind me. I turn into my next class, and about a minute later she does, too.  I'm hearing the "We have a new student," speech, again. She places herself in the back row, but this time she's right next to me. I want to say "hello," or "hi," or anything, but I let my nerves get the best of me.
I'm so ecstatic when the lunch bell rings because I need to speak to Dally.

    "So, you're telling me that Eric, my best friend, Eric, has a crush?" Dally asks me, eyeing me with curiousity. "What? No, I didn't say that." I counterstate. "Well, you have to have some interest in her, or else her name wouldn't have been brought up." He's got a valid point. "Maybe you're right, Dally." I let a grin escape and he freaks out like a little kid. "I'm so happy for you, Eric! My best friend has his first crush." The bell rings to head to our final class of the day. I can't wait for this day to be over with.

   "Familia! I have something important to discuss!" Sabrina shouts from downstairs, attempting to grasp everyone's attention. "We haven't had a family meeting in a long time. I wonder what's up?" Dally questions me as we walk downstairs to meet Sabrina. "Everyone sit down." She ushers us to the couch. I sit down beside Emily in the love seat and Dally sits on the chair's arm on the opposite side of Emily. "Eric, Emily," she pauses and walks over to us, placing our hands in hers. "I have some news." She hands me a manila folder with a packet inside. At first I'm confused. "What's this?" I question, opening up the packet. "You'll see." she says with a gianormous smile on her face. "You're adopting us?"
