Autumn Leaves

I'm not very good at writing poetry, but please bear with me if this poem sounds rubbish. Thank you. :)

The dying colours of summer fading to brown, yellow and red,

I looked up at the sky, the gray replacing the blue

The summer sun put to rest until another day,

Rain splattering on the trunks of the dying trees,

The autumn leaves falling to the ground.

 Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter,

All in the circuit of a kaleidoscope,

The fourth season awaits us,

September, October, November,

The gate between summer and winter.

We will wait.

For all these autumn leaves to fall.

*If you are from the Southern Hemisphere, please replace September, October and November with March, April and May.*
