CHAPTER 1: The sarcasm begins…
I swing my plain burgundy back pack painfully on my shoulder, letting out a groan.
" Evie? Are you okay?" Nick asks stupidly, Do I Look Oh Fucking Kay! I think but turn to my best friend and smile fakely,
"Yeah, i’m fine! It’s not like I got stabbed in the arm by a needle or anything!" I reply sarcastically and he smiles slightly but stays his usual boring self. Not that I'm complaining, I guess I can be boring sometimes. Especially to him! He isn't really into, Pokemon, Super Mario… Or just video games in general.
I slowly walk to my locker and open it, agonisingly putting some books inside my bag,
"Are you still coming to mine? I need to tell you something important!" He says. My stomach coincidently begins to squirm. Did I do something wrong?
"Well," I said, thinking of a reason not to go, but I hesitated to long and shrug, "Fine I'll go."
I shut the locker, lifting the bag on my shoulder blades,
"Sound like fun! Can I come?"
I jerk around to see Kai stood in-front of me. His short, dark brown hair is the same colour as his thin, evil eyes and his broad shoulders always make me on edge.
Could this day seriously get any worse? Kai hates me and I hate him, Im hoping he doesn’t know about my arm, or else he will probably hit it until it breaks. It’s only my luck that Nick suddenly mentions to Kai,
"Did your sister get the jabs today as well?"
"Nick!" I almost shout grabbing the inhaler from my side pocket of my bag, taking a deep breath as the anxiety kicks in. Kai slowly turns his head and begins to grin wickedly.
“No, I forgot. Good bye Nick," he says. Nick looks at me concerned but leaves slowly as I feel the tears swell in my throat.
GOD I HATE HIM FOR LEAVING! He does it every time Kai tells him to!
"Why didn’t you tell me babe?" He says slyly,
“I’m not your ‘babe’!" I say but my voice catchers half way.
He begins to squeeze my left arm tightly and I gasp in pain, and back against the wall of lockers as a lump forms in my throat. No! I won't cry in front of him!
“Please Kai! Please stop!” I yelp as he squeezes tighter… Fucking dick!
“Are you a dog?” he asks and I shake my head quickly, “Then don't beg!”
He places his other hand on my rib, more specifically, the rib he bruised last week.
He presses down harder and harder until I notice a teacher walks past, and his grip on my arm and my chest loosens. I look at him questionably.
His smile was fake.
"Sorry, was that your sore arm?" And, without a single precaution, he hits my arm twice, which sends an unbearable shooting pain through my muscles and I gasp silently.
"See you round, Babe." He laughs and walks away.
And I let out a slight moan in pain before walking to class.
…
Finally! School has finished and I can hardly resist running to my cherry red 302 Mustang and I jump inside excitedly, almost going over the speed limit to get home quicker!
…
I run inside and collapse on the L shaped couch as I turn on the large flat screen TV, which is attached to the wall, and switch to NCIS using the remote control.
