We parked in the driveway of our big new house. There were three people standing on the porch with smiles and laughter on their faces. After grabbing my bag I pranced to the porch. A girl with freckles and brown curly hair skin smiled at me. Her pale skin and glasses shone in the sunlight. She always reminds me of some kind of hippie vampire, even though I knew she was always constantly in the sun.
She squeezed me to the point where I had to tell her I could barely breathe. "Sorry, it's just sooooooo super good to see you," she said excitedly.
"Now, Nicky, don't crush my girlfriend, she's very fragile," Gavin reasoned. I nudged him in the side. I gave him the death stare. A boy behind Nicky laughed.
He was a bit more on the chubbier side of things, with sandy blonde hair and glassy blue eyes. I know I'm being a bit rude here, but he reminded me of a marshmallow...
"Yeah," he said. "Real fragile."
I pointed a finger at him. "Say I'm fragile one more time, Cole, and you will never see the end of revenge," I said jokingly. He shrugged and looked back at Nicky, who was scratching her head.
The only who hadn't talked to me was Phil, who was sitting on the far side of the porch. I excused myself, then walked towards the lonely friend.
His curly black hair was untamed, which probably meant he forgot today was moving day. He looked at me with beady chocolate brown eyes. You could barely see them, because one, he had short framed glasses on and two, his eyes squinted against the sunlight. "Heya Philly," I said cheerfully.
He chuckled and stood. "Suh, dude," he said with a Californian accent. I gave him a bro hug and looked back at the moving van.
"When is Danny bean gonna get here?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"I dunno, I think he was picking up V though, she doesn't have a car." My eyes widened. V and Danny do not mix. They are way to aggressive to be near each other for more than fifteen minutes without hurting each other.
I looked out onto the street. This place was great, my kids could live here, grow up here, this was a great neighborhood!
Phil could see the wonder in my eyes. I just laughed it off, he rolled his eyes. A black kia pulled into the driveway with music blasting loud. Out jumped a chubby girl with poofy multicolored hair and glasses. She was soon followed by a boy with brushed blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. He shouted at her and she rolled her eyes. She waved him away then waved at us. I handed Jeremy to Phil and gave him a bag of vegetables. I ran to the boy. "DANNY BEANNNNN!!!!" I shouted. He picked me up and twirled me around. We both laughed. Danny was like my big brother, well, he had been that way since the second grade. He put me down and I looked at his car. He had the whole back seat filled with belongings. V came up to me with a wide smile. I patted her shoulder, V doesn't like hugs.
"How was the ride?" V rolled her eyes. Danby ran a hand through his hair.
"It was okay. Danny blasted Twenty One Pilots the whole ride, we sang most of them, talked to each other in between breaks."
Danny laughed. "Yeah, somebody's a die heart fan," he said looking over at V.
V blushed and punched him in the shoulder. "Says the one with all of their CD's," she teased.
Gavin laughed, bringing Cole and Nicky with him. Phil joined us soon after, still feeding my hedgehog.
That's normal, I guess...
My friends all hugged and laughed and talked until I pipped up. "Uh, can we go move in now?" They all looked at me. Nicky hooked her arm with mine as Phil handed me Jeremy and my bag of vegetables.
"But of course, o' Lady Dumaran," she said in a British accent. I linked my arm with Gavin, and everyone else fell into line. We looked up at the big house. It was like a mansion, but a bit smaller. We've been saving up to buy it for years, and now it was ours.
Forever.
