April's POV

April couldn't help but feel excited when Aiko suggested they go to the carnival. Thankfully she had exchanged numbers in case of emergencies and had split into three groups. April ended up pairing with Jackson and Mark while BamBam, Junior and Youngjae decided to stick together. The three of them had left immediately, leaving the other six debating on what rides to go on first. Eventually, Aiko had lead Yugyeom and JB somewhere leaving Jackson, Mark and April alone.
"Okay," April said, turning to her group. "Where to?"
"I want to get candy," Jackson said immediately, pointing at the line of food trucks parked near the entrance.
"Let's go then."
The three of them ordered cotton candy which was nicely payed for by Mark. Next April insisted they go on the Ferris wheel before it became busy which Jackson refused to do.
"I'm not doing it! It stops when you're way up high!"
"Stay here then, we won't be long," Mark said, shooing him off with his hands. April and Mark sat in line for a long while, waiting for their turn when finally a nice gentleman lead them into the cart. April felt embarrassed to be so close to Mark, but at the same time relieved. Mark had gotten over his embarrassment and seemed to be showing a slight bit of affection towards April. The man chatted with Mark in Korean while they got ready while April continuously nodded to everything he was saying.
Probably safety rules.
The Ferris wheel had started up as the two of them lifted to the sky. After a quick half spin they sat on the very top, looking down. April sighed, her anxiety rising as they sat in spot.
"You okay?" Mark asked, a worried look crossing his face.
"I'm-" April closed her eyes. "I'm fine." The wheel didn't seem to be moving at all, stuck in the same position.
"Is it-" April froze again, trying to catch her breath. "Is it taking a while?"
"A bit, but we're okay," Mark assured her. Time froze as he grabbed her hand, holding it tightly. "We're okay," he repeated, scooting closer to her. April nodded quickly, limp in her seat. Finally it started up again and did the rest of the loop before their cart was only inches from the ground. April exited first, still holding Mark's hand.
"Okay, no more ferris wheels," she demanded, feeling somewhat sick. April turned her head to the side to see Jackson sat by a tree surrounded in toys.
"Jackson, what'd you do?"
"I played a few games," he told us, hugging the human sized teddy bear he won.
"Woah," Mark gasped, intrigued. April sat down with Mark, their hands locked together while Jackson explained every single prize and what game he played go win it.
"What next?"

...

The night had come very quickly. The nine of them had managed to meet up by the entrance once again where they were given water tattoo's to take home. Before they got into the two vans, April grabbed Jackson's shoulder, motioning for him to speak with her.
"Hey," he said cheerfully, carrying as much as he could. April, Mark and BamBam had also ended up carrying some of Jackson's prizes.
"Are you interested in Aiko?" April asked shamelessly, catching Jackson by surprise.
"Not really, why?"
April hated doing this to Jackson, knowing he was a sweet guy.
"You're a sweet, lovable guy who tends to flirt now and then," she began, picking st her nails. "And there's a chance you're misleading Aiko to think that you're interested in her."
Jackson remained quiet, taking in all that she had said.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, looking at his shoes.
"It's fine," April assured him, feeling bad. She thought back to Soojin and what she had told her.
"Just don't hurt her, okay?"
"All right."
April moved closer to Jackson, hitting him lightly with her arm.
"You need to teach me how to win prizes, bud."
"I'm pretty skilled," he admitted, cheering up.

...

After arriving home Aiko and Yugyeom had made plans to go out somewhere which had made them a weak shot for being teased. The rest of the boys had also decided to go eat somewhere, inviting Mark and April who declined. The two of them sat quietly in Got7's dorm while the others left, lost in thought.
"Let's put the tattoos on," April suggested, pulling hers out of her pocket. The two of them went to the kitchen where they carefully wet a cloth. Mark went first. He sat on one of the dining chairs while April held the wet cloth up to his neck, holding it there while it set.
"So, what're your plans for the future?" Mark asked out of nowhere, flashing her a smile.
"Hmm," April hummed, thinking of her answer carefully. "To be honest I don't plan my future I just go along with it."
"I see," Mark said in a cheesy tone. April took the cloth off from Mark's neck, her eyes meeting his for a moment. Butterflies grew impatient in April's stomach as she stared at him, smiling. Mark grabbed the side of April's face, pausing as he thought about what he was doing. Slowly, he leaned in but right before their lips could meet April coughed.
"Uh," she coughed, panic overtaking her.
"I'll be right back."
April hurried off to the bathroom where she sat down against the wall, trying to calm herself down.
What's going on, she thought. I can't fall for Mark, I can't. He works with me, I could get fired.
She stood up, looking herself in the mirror. Her face was bright red from being flustered and her hands shook anxiously.
"What's happening," she moaned quietly, turning on the cold water. April dipped her hand in grabbing a handful of the cold liquid, patting it on her face.
"Calm down, calm down," she whispered to herself, continuing to cool down her red face. Exiting the bathroom April found it hard to look Mark in the eyes. She wanted more then anything for him to kiss her, to hug her, to call her his own- but it just couldn't happen. It was too risky for both April and Mark.
"April," Mark said as she sat down in front of him.
"I wanted to tell you something..."
"Don't," April whispered, embarrassed. "Please."
Mark nodded understandingly.
"Okay."
