(Pewd's POV)
I had already envisioned what I was mostly going to wear. As I thought it over, I ran around the hotel room and looked in all the suitcases for the most important pieces. The voice changer and the helmet. I set those on the bedside table and then looked through my clothing items, regretting not choosing the night before.
"Felix I'm going to go now!" Marzia called from the other room.
"WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!" I repeatedly yelled as I put on my striped t-shirt over my head. It was new so there was absolutely no way anyone could recognize me from my videos.
I carried the voice changer in the helmet in one arm and ran out the door behind Marzia and Puga, almost forgetting to close it. I laughed as I ran up to her.
"Damn woman! Can't even wait two seconds!"
"You are so slow, you know that?"
I continued giggling and planted a kiss on her forehead. "I'm just kidding, calm down."
As we approached the car I opened the door and set the helmet down next to me. Marzia eyed it suspiciously.
"What's that?"
"My disguise."
"What are you even talking about?" I continued to laugh as I started the engine.
"I've got my video camera and I'm hoping to scare some people and make some vlogs."
"Scare people?"
"Ya... well... kinda. Maybe I'll meet some fans and then I can take off the helmet and..." I made eye contact with Marzia's confused gaze. "I don't know! It'll be fun, trust me okay?"
She giggled and we continued to drive to comic-con. There was a bit of traffic, but luckily I had left the house early enough that it wasn't too bad. Marzia didn't quite agree with me, probably just because she didn't want to be proved wrong when she said I took longer than her to get ready in the morning.
"What other youtubers should we meet up with?" I asked, just to make conversation mostly.
"I'm not sure. We should see Anthony and Ian though, it's been a while."
I nodded my head in agreement. I didn't say anything, but I also definitely wanted to meet some youtubers... in my costume. I always wanted to know what it would be like to be a fan. Maybe that was really the only reason I had come up with such a crazy idea in the first place. It might be nice to be the one chasing others instead of being chased.
When we got there I put the strap for the voice changer around my head and set it over my mouth. I flicked on a little button and started saying "testing testing," in to the strange box of plastic. You were just barely able to hear what I was saying through the robotic sound and the static. I then put on the helmet and decided I looked bad ass. The plastic over the face area looked completely black, but inside I was able to see clearly.
"Where do you want to go first?" Marzia asked, looking over the mostly empty space.
"How about you go get some breakfast and I'll catch up with you later?"
"Uh... sure. Should I take Puga?"
"Ya," I said, already starting to walk towards one of the largest buildings. Before long it was already 11, and people in crazy outfits were everywhere. Occasionally I would pass by people wearing my merchandise or home-made t-shirts with things like the words "Bro Fist" on them. As I walked by them I would always swear they could recognize me for a second, but they never did. Nobody approached me. I couldn't help but wonder what they would have done if I hadn't worn the helmet.
