My parents took me on a private tour with the principal so I could get a "feel" of my new school. Not the first time and probably not the last.
I walked down the hallways behind my parents who looked more excited about me coming here then I was. We stopped at some classrooms.
"Hello, I'm Ms. Kelley. I teach biotech, and gene alteration in the lab," She said nicely. But something hinted that she didn't like me.
"Ariana Court," I said looking up at her and shaking her hand. I could feel her mind. And I couldn't help but hear her thoughts flooding in my direction.
God, I hope she doesn't pick my class. I don't get paid enough to deal with some girl that looks like she's from psycho killer III.
But she continued smiling. The corner of her eyes kept crinkling. As if she was in pain. My eyes burned into hers. She tried to look away.
"It was nice meeting you, Adriana."
"My name's Ariana... and likewise." I said in a mock-cheery voice through gritted teeth. She wiped her hands on her skirt. That was so gross. My parents were led to another classroom and I trailed behind as Ms. Kelly closed her door quickly. Thank god I'm away from the psycho.
I used my mind to lock the door from the inside.
As soon as we got to the next couple of classrooms I zoned out. Using my mind as a personal television. That was until we went to the last ones left. The lady that looked young enough to be a student she didn't smile at me until our eyes met.
"Hi, I'm Nari, but 'respectfully' you must call me Ms. Bean." I tried to contain my laughter.
"Okay, Ms. Bean," I said smiling.
"Don't mock me," She snapped with mock-seriousness.
I giggled. I definitely was picking her class. "What do you teach?"
She smiled. "I teach Historical Legends III."
Her thoughts flooded into my mind. She is so familiar. I hope I have her in my class. It would make this boring ass classroom fun once more.
I smiled. She also looked familiar.
I could totally see her as my sister, cousin, aunt, or best friend in another life.
We went to a couple more classrooms and while I was on my phone some klutz bumped into me.
"Um, don't you see me walking here?" She snapped at me
I should be asking you the same question, bitch, I thought.
"No but-"
"But nothing. If I was walking you move. Okay, little bitch?"
I don't think this snob knew who she was messing with.
"I'm seriously wondering something," I said.
"What, little bitch?"
"Why you keep calling me your name." I said smirking.
Her mouth opened to say something but she quickly shut it. And I walked away.
