My Brothers Bestfriend

Dad's House

     "Why do I have to? Nathan doesnt like me, I have no friends there, and there is going to be nothing for me to do there." I complained. My mother is going to Paris for some business trip thing and she is making my spend the whole summer at my fathers house which is in Pauls Valley Oklahoma. And to make things even better my half brother Nathan whos a year older than me lives with my dad. Also the last time I spent anytime with my dad and Nathan, Nathan was being a complete ass to me. Also that was only two years ago when I fourteen and Nathan was fifteen. 

    "Sorry Honey but I have to take this trip and Nathan does  like you, he just isn't used to having to spend time with a girl. And for haing no friends you can make some, and its the country for gods sake. Your dad owns six horses and he lives on a ranch. Youll be surronded by horses and the have two dogs also. You will definietly have something to do Faith. But stop complaining just get in the car we have a long drive ahead of us." My mom said flicking her short brown hair out of her face.

     "Fine but if I die this summer I'm blaming you just so you know Mother" I said. My mom and I look really different she says I look more like my dad. My mom has short brown hair with brown eyes and she isnt very tall while I have long wavy blonde hair with blue eyes and I'm taller than her. 

"You'll be just fine honey." My mom said once we got in the car. She got in the drivers seat and I got in the passenger seat. Even though I am sixteen with my license and everything she refuses o let my drive while she is in the car. 

     After about ten hours we finally pulled into my dad's long driveway. He had a nice house from the outside it looked homey, and behind it was horse stables and pastures. The whole property was fenced because of the horses and I saw a few of my dads horses running around in the fenced in fields. 

      When we pulled up to my dads house the door opened and my dad, Nathan, and some guy who looked Nathans age walked out. They were followed by two dogs, a blue tick coonhound, and a small tan pitbull puppy.  Mom stopped the car and I got out. Mom popped the trunk and I got my things. I struggled to hold everything when I saw Dad push Nathan towards me. I assume Dad told Nathan to come help me. 

   "Hey Faith" Nathan said grabbing some of my things. He left me carrying a duffel bag and my laptop case. I thanked Nathan and then walked up to my Mom who was standing right next to the car. 

      "You'll be fine honey and don't forget to call me at least everyday." My mom said hugging me. 

   "I wont I'll call you every morning. You should get going I love you and I will miss you" I said to my mom. 

    "I love you to bye honey." she said to me before turning towards my father. "Take care of her until I come back Keith." Mom said to him before turning and getting in the car. She turned the car and drove down the driveway I watched her go waving. 

   'Okay Faith you can do this you'll survive this summer.' I thought to myself. I walked up to the porch as Nathan walked out of the house. 

   "I already put your stuff in your room." Nathan said looking at me.
