So it was like any other day at school super boring. It was friday and i was really happy to be getting to go camping this weekend i was gonna take my friend lizzy with me which was nice me and her walking through the forest like we did every year when we went camping. So im sitting here stareing at the clock waiting for it to be 3:15. Then the bell rang i got up from my seat put up my chair and left i went to my locker to put my binder away when lizzy pops up out of now where and yells
"Boo haha got you!"
"No you didn't." I say
She laughs
"Ya i know you never get scared but i am determind to scare you i will i promise."
She had made that promise in grade three when the class pet which was a tarantula got loose and every one started freaking out because it was on my shoulder i just sat there and stared at it. I look back at it now and laugh. So lizzy and i headed to my house her mom had already droped off her stuff so we packed up the rv and headed out it was a long trip to the camp site so i sat at the table put in my headphones and played some music and took a nap. I was woken by lizzy nudging me with her foot i took out my head phones and my mom said
"Sweetie wake up we are almost at lake vallent."
Lake vallent the creepiest lake in the entire state. It was only creepy because there have been so many people who have disapeared without a trace theres even a stupid legend about it. Which i never have ever believed it was always a stupid ghost story told to all the kids so they wouldnt wonder around at night.
"Hey do you think we'll find any of the remains of the missing people this year."
Said lizzy with a bit of excitement in her voice.
"I highly dought it they've searched every inch of the place and found nothing."
"Ya you are probably right, but wouldn't that be cool."
"Mmhm." I said
We drove up to the road that lead into the campsite there was an old sight made of wood with big red letters that spelled
WELCOME TO LAKE VALLENT
The sign was so old that the letters looked like they had been writin in blood.
I remember when i was first told the story i was probably 10 or 11 at the time. My class and one of the older classes had gone on a camping trip there and the older kids had told the story.

Once there was a boy who was eight years old who lived in a cabin out by the lake. He was always told not to go out after dark and the boy never did until one night his dog sparky had started scratching at the door so the boy let him out thinking he had to pee or something a little while later he heard the dog scratching at the door and he was whineing so the boy went to let him in but when he opened the door he saw his dog bolt for the woods the boy stood there and called the dog but he wouldnt come. So he thought i'll just go to the end of the porch so he walked out and started calling the dog again but nothing. He then heard a terrible shreik that he knew it was from sparky so he quickly grabbed a flashlight and ran outside he ran into the woods and started looking for his dog he searched and searched but couldnt find sparky. Then he came to a clearing and saw a pearson standing over his dog. Sparky didnt move at all the boy ran to his dog and found that sparky was dead he looked up at the person who was smileing and the boy said "you killed him! Why did you kill him!" He was so angry that he lunged at the person but the person was quick and took out a knife and stabbed the boy. With his dying breath he said he would have his revenge, and that every year he claims a new victum who goes missing and he'll keep going until the person who killed his dog is dead. They say you know your next when you see his dog sparky walk towards you beacuse the boy wont be far behind.

It was a stupid story that wasn't real but when i heard people telling little children it made me think how gulabble kids are they'll believe anything you tell them. We finally got to the campsite we unpacked and went to sleep.
