Here I lay in the dark; it is midnight.
My brain keeps me awake; I cannot sleep.
As I search my thoughts, you come into sight.
I jump in, as my pile of thoughts is deep.

You're complicated, an intricate maze.
The twinkle in your eyes shines like glitter.
I could drown in your oceans with fair waves.

But, you leave me confused, what did I do?
You seek better than me, I understand.
It's 'cause I don't have ocean eyes like you.
The ones you seek do, but their charm is bland.

At night, these thoughts are what keep me awake.
Insecurity causes the heartache.
