My name is Midoriya Mizuku
A baby's cry pierced the tense atmosphere as a young woman with dark green hair cradled a small pink bundle. She gently shushed the baby, rocking her arms in a slow, rhythmic pace as her husband sat beside them from the hospital bed.
"Our little girl is beautiful," he breathed in awe, small flames flickering out from the back of his throat as his eyes peered down the tiny face belonging to his newborn daughter, her small lashes fluttering the slightest as her mouth opened to let out another cry.
The woman laughed as tears prickled at the corner of her eyes, her lips quivering as she nudged the baby closer to her face, softly caressing their cheeks together.
And I am Quirkless
"Okaa-san! Play the video!" a tiny girl gushed, squeezing a small figurine of the hero All Might.
"Again? Seriously...you tell me to play this so many times that it's only because of you that the video gets an increase of the number of views. It gives me chills just lookin at it..." The video started, and Mizuku began to bounce in her sheet.
"Sooo cool!" the girl cheered, her eyes shining bright with hope as her cheeks flamed red in admiration. "I want a quirk just like his! Or even otou-san's!" She didn't notice her mother leave the room to make a call.
The doctor said there was something wrong with me...
"I'm afraid that it is impossible, you'd be better giving up," the doctor said with little sympathy.
The girl froze with shock as she felt her throat begin to clog up.
"There's really something wrong with her?" her mother asked in concern, patting her by the head, "Other kids in her class already manifested their abilities...she's the only one who hasn't yet..."
"Please excuse me for interrupting you madam, but you are the fourth generation, no?" the doctor said, sitting up in his chair, "I want to talk in terms of 'individuality'..."
Her mother placed a hand to her face in thought as she answered his question. "Yes...I'm able to 'attract' small objects to me. As for my husband, he can breathe fire." She 'pulled' the figurine Mizuku had dropped towards her hand as a demonstration of her power.
The doctor quickly scribbled that down and whirled in his chair to point at an x-ray shot. "You see, in general, this is where the complex individuality manifests, until the age of four..."
"Mizuku, meanwhile, only one of her feet has two joints which is even rarer in our world than both having two joints...it means that she has no 'individuality' of any kind. The only possibility of having an 'individuality' is to wait for a long time, and even I can't guarantee that..."
Everyone knew that
"Hey," a small, ashy blonde boy called out to a petite girl with curly green hair. The boy sneered as she turned to face him, her naturally wide eyes looking at him curiously.
"Hai?"
"Don't think that you can do anything just because you're a girl," he exclaimed, pushing her down with explosive hands. He grinned in satisfaction as she cried out in shock and pain. "Especially a quirkless girl."
She sniffed, looking down at her torn dress with tears running down her flushed cheeks. Looking up, her glistening green eyes met with his own red eyes. Her lips quivered as she slowly lifted herself up and she bowed to him, her hair falling past her frail shoulders as she stuttered out words.
"G-gomen for being a n-nuisance...I-I don't want Kacchan to h-hate me..." she sniffed, straightening back up to rub her eyes from any tears.
Kacchan flushed at the nickname she gave him, clenching his teeth as he raised a fist. "D-don't call me that, baka-Deku!" he sputtered, edging closer to her with a threatening glare.
