Trina

I wake up. The sun is shining bright through the space between my curtains as if trying to get my attention. I spread the curtains even more and breath in the sunshine.

I look at my radio, it's 8 o' clock. I turn on the radio and listen to today's weather forecast, nice and sunny just how I like it, as I pick out my clothes. I place my new outfit on my bed. I admire them a little thinking how awesome I would look going to school today. Finally, I snap out of it and hit the shower. After cleansing myself I get out, brush my teeth, and get dressed. I couldn't help but stop infront of the mirror and just look at myself. I look awesome! And today was going to be the best day ever.

Well, that is untill I exited my room. "Happy birthday Trina!" I get from my brother and mom. Ugh, here it comes, the big hug "Okay, okay I get it now stop smothering me." I say and push them away. "I'm sorry it's just I'm so proud of you. You're finally fifteen!" she says approaching me for another hug. Again I push her away. "Exactly. I'm fifteen so stop treating me like a child!" I say and storm out the house trying to ignore that delicious smell of blueberry pancakes Mother made me. I close the gate and finally, I'm out. I may have been a little harsh but whatever I'm fifteen now, I'm not a child and they need to learn that someday.

It's pretty beautiful outside. It's mid-spring, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and all that good stuff. I can't help but smile at today as I walk into the halls of Sea Side High. I reach my locker and take my bookbag out of it. I left it in there over night because come on, it's my birthday and I don't feel like doing homework. It's not like doing it is going to help my grade now. It's already pretty low but who cares.

As I close my locker I feel two hands grab me and push me to the lockers. I struggle and try to break free but I can't, the pair of hands are gripped around my arms and they won't let me move.

I look up to see who's doing this to me. "O-m-g Brad, quit it. Get off of me." I say in irritation. "Aw, happy birthday Trina." he says with his eyes traveling up and down my body. "Dude stop it! You're being creepy." I say still struggling but he's just too strong. After all, he is on our schools football team. "Lookin' good babe I wanna see what's under your skirt" he says with an evil grin. "Stop you're making a show you freak." I say trying to swivel my way out. "I sure am. Yo Anthony, Brandon. Help me out with this one." He Shakes me a little and the back of my head hits the locker hard but he doesn't notice. Next thing you know I'm being tossed around by them. They're pushing me into the the other. "Stop!" I yelp but it doesn't help, instead it just makes them laugh. I'm so embarrassed. Suddenly, Anthony pushes me towards Brad but Brad just moves to the side which causes me to bump into some girl.

The girl just snaps her head at me. Me, I'm just scared I don't know how she's going to react. Her eyes narrowing at me. Then she switched her attention to the boys. I straightened myself up and stood looking to see what she's going to do as well as the crowd. "Hey you! The three studges. Could you cut your crap out you assholes. Leave your horse play for the barn you animals!" she said. "Ohhhh!" the crowd says trying to instigate. The boys immediately stopped laughing and walked towards the girl standing there with her hip dropped, arms crossed, and her head high with a smerk on her face waiting for the guys' reply. "Shut up Aurora. You're just a middle-schooler", Brad says. "How about you stay in your place little one before you get hurt." he says and grabs me from behind and pulls me close to him. I let out a grunt and look up at him. He's just looking at Aurora waiting for her next reply.

She does a little fake laugh and slowly walks towards us, making a dramatic scene. The crowds eyes are just following her. She stops right infront of us, looks up at Brad, and gives a little giggle. "How about you stay in your place. I may be only thirteen but even I can see that you're trying to some from a freshman because none of the other juniors want it from you." she gave another giggle and walked away. "Oh." she stopped and turned at us again. "And if you or your goons put a finger on me you'll see who's gonna get hurt. You don't know me." she said. She gave me chills. She gave Brad chills too. The crowds' eyes followed her down the hall. Then they looked back at the four of us and laughed, then followed her and gave her high fives. Then Brandon and Adam left us as well sucking their teeth and murmuring stuff.

I looked up at Brad thinking, what now. He looked down at me, sucked his teeth, pushed me into the lockers, and walked away.

I didn't mind at all because all I was thinking about was Aurora. She was awesome. I still remember the way her big brown eyes got so wide when I bumped into her. She was so perfect. From her blackish-bluish hair to her beat up converses. She was georgeous, like a model. Slim yet curves in all the right places. She made me look like a child next to her. And her attitude was so striking. She knows what she's doing. Then the bell rang. I was late for class. "Best birthday ever." I said sarcastically under my breath as I ran to Global Studies class.
