Awkwardly, I stand in front of the park again, to meet Winter. It is awkward, because Hannah is with me as my guide. It annoys me, because I told her that we're going to meet her best friend who happens to be a guy. I already told her that I am not interested to be a girlfriend and especially not to the Winter kind of friend. Also, she is quite pissed off, about what happened yesterday. She wants to discuss this problem with Winter, I tried to stop her, but how do you stop a person in a wheelchair. You drive over their feet or over them, but that would be too violent.
I am just shooting her nasty glares, in the hope that she will feel uncomfortable and will walk away eventually, But she ignores them and literary keeps her gaze over me. She already won this round and it haven't even started yet.
"Hey Debstar," The hoarse voice of Winter behind us, I shiver, Hannah jumps up out of fear and let out a loud shriek. Winters shrugs whilst pointing next to a tall guy. Who doesn't even look in our direction.
Hannah notices that too, and she becomes really uncomfortable and quite offended.
"Kaleb, meet Deborah," he looks my way, but right above me and then it occurs to me. That he is blind.
"Hey Kaleb," I say, he knows nows that my voice is lower, he looks down and scratches his head.
"Are you that short?, Debbie," I shake my head, Winter gives me that are you for real look.
"Oh no, I am in a wheelchair," I say in a casual manner as if everybody is in a wheelchair. A cute laugh forms on his face, he crouches right in front of me and give a hand.
"I am Kaleb, I am blind." He places his hands on my knees and keeps laughing. I would be shaking so hard if I had a feeling in my knees and I must become so red right now.
I glance over to Hannah and Winter, who give each other nasty glares. I roll my eyes and turn over Kaleb.
"Can I touch your Hair," I gasp a yes, a hot dude wants to touch my hair. I untie my hair and a huge curly Afro fills the atmosphere. I turn my head a bit and lean forward. He starts touching my hair. Every corner and every inch of it.
"You have beautiful hair, Deborah," Yeah, he really is blind, my hair looks unkempt. Like hay in a haystack. I tie my hair again.
"Why are you tying your hair," The hoarse voice Winter again, I look over to Kaleb who looks disappointed in me.
"Don't," I keep my hair untied, but then notice a few things off. There's some snot coming out of his nose, his tie is wrongly tied and his hair needs to be put in place.
"Do you have a comb with you, Kaleb?" He nods and takes one out of his jacket. So even blind guys are more idle and neater than you Deborah. Shame on you.
I took his comb and start combing his hair in place. I took a tissue and cleaned his nose. I then took his tie and re-tied it properly. His face starts to redden and a tear comes out of his eyes. He takes me in his arms, it feels nice and comforting.
"Thank you, Debbie," He whispers in my ears. You are the best unlike Winter, who would leave me walking like that.
He says that a little louder on purpose. Winter utters a loud, hey!.
He shrugs it off and places his hand on my face. He smirks."Are you blushing?" A wave of embarrassment, flushing over me. I shake my head, his hand still on my cheeks.
"She is lying," Hannah and Winter say in chorus. Kaleb looks up and stands up slowly. The three of us all stare at him in surprise. He walks in the direction of Hannah, which leaves me kind of alone.
"Hey, I heard your voice as well. Sorry that I didn't notice you," she stutters some words which supposed to be. I't is okay, my name is Hannah.
But sounded more like,
iskay, mway nwame is Hannaaah. He says nice to meet you Hannah and makes his way to me again.
"You remind me of my sister, you ought to meet her one day, let's go into the park today." He holds one side loosely and I choose a direction. People get out of her way, even cyclists. A few moments later, we sit in the grass.
"Don't tell anyone, but they offered surgery, but I declined it right away." I gasp.
"You probably want to know why, this world is a messed up place. I don't want to see it, if I have nothing that makes me want to see it." I understood it perfectly, but I would never want to be blind and that's what I said.
"The only thing that I actually want to see is your hair, it feels so beautiful and different, not as ordinary as usual.," this makes me blush again.
He puts his hand on my face. That killing smirk takes his face over.
"Ha, you're blushing again!,"
