I reached down towards the puddle, once my finger-tips broke the surface, I felt something grabbing me. It wrapped around my wrists. It kept on pulling me until my entire arm was underwater. The thing around my wrists felt like a human's hand.
Then, with one powerful yank, it pulled so hard that I fell, and my head was in the water. It kept pulling, almost my entire upper body was underwater. I was able to get a grip on the sidewalk with my free hand.
I opened my eyes in the water, it was just nothing around me, it's just water, it was hard to see. The water was a murky, dirty, brownish color. But the worst part was the taste... It tasted like metallic-y type of flavor, like when you bite your tongue and it starts to bleed, it tastes like that.
I saw things floating in the water, but I couldn't see them clearly. They seemed to be bodies. They swayed lifelessly, and they seemed to be chained that goes all the way down, down, down the water...
I looked directly below me, and I saw the thing that was pulling me.
It was like a human's corpse, but it was bloated, rotten, and fleshy... It was naked and it's eyes were just pale white with out any pupils. It was covered in gashes and paled fleshes. It's mouth hung open like it's jaw was dislocated.
I was running out of air, my lungs was burning like it's gonna burst, but... seeing that thing gave me pure primal fear that just gave me power to pull myself out free from it's grasp.
I pulled back and fell, the air rushed back into my lungs. It couldn't be real. I looked at my spilled coffee, I picked it up and threw it at the puddle to see if it was real.
It only made a small splash.
