March 2nd

Breathe. That's all 14 year old Zachary could think of. Breathing as they carried him into a hospital room. "What is it?" the nurse asked the doctor. "Leukemia. Diagnosed approximately 2 years ago in this very month." The doctor said firmly. Zachary blinked twice l-leukemia? He thought.

"His mother should have sent him to us right away. Then he could have a bit more of a chance. " The nurse spat shaking her head. "Well, never say never Lois. I'm the best children's doctor in all of Richmond for that matter. Just pray on your momma's behind - they came to me. " The doctor responded determined with a sense of dignity.

Zachary's mom and sister ran right behind them. Both red-teary eyed. Mom started to second guess herself. What if zach dies on my ass? What will sam say when she finds out her older brother is gone? Little did she know those were only questions for the opinionated, unrighteous ones. Sitting on there asses and talking politics.

They finally got to the room: room #227 Zach thought. When they got inside, it looked nice. Blue walls, a flat screen television and even a softer bed then the one Zach was on himself. I'm damned. Zachary thought to himself. Samantha stared at him while they put him on the other bed. "You can do this Zach. You can defeat this evil war with the devil. I believe in you. " Sam said crying.

Zach smiled.

It was the first time in days that he had smiled. He knew if he died, it would break Sam's heart. He loved her too much to give in now.

"We are going to ask you both to leave. We want to do a few tests on Zach before we decide if he's ready to go home now. Lois. Show them out and get health background check. " The doctor said only turning to Lois. Lois hesitated, but nodded and eventually left.

"Hello doctor. " zach said. "Hi Zachary. I'm going to be your doctor. Dr. Carson "
