I woke up to the steady beeping on my alarm clock. I walked over to my closet and grabbed a blue t-shirt and a pair of jeans. I took of my pajamas, a red shirt and a pair of black pajama pants. I walked out of my room and down the hall to the bathroom. I did my normal bathroom routine. After I brushed my hair, I held it up as if it were in a ponytail. I shook my head and released my hair. I haven't tried to put my hair in a ponytail since I was 9. At that age, a boy with his shoulder length hair in a small ponytail looked cute. At 13, it just looks stupid. I walked down the halls and down my steps. When I got down the stairs, i was bombarded by my family screaming "SURPRISE!" Then confetti and glitter fell on my head. I looked at my living room and saw a mix of Christmas and birthday decorations, including a big banner that said "Happy Birthday Chip" I shook my head, glitter and confetti flying everywhere, then smiled. I wrapped my arms around my parents in a hug. I then felt something pulling at my pants leg. I looked down to see my little, 3 year old, sister Ivy. My dad and I picked her up and let her join in on the hug. My parents told me that there was no school today. I mentally did a happy dance, then shoved a forkful of birthday pancakes into my mouth. "Chip, you got a little something on your face," my mom told me. She walked to my side of the table to clean it off. I pushed her away, then wiped my mouth. After I finished my pancakes, I asked my parents, "Can I open my presents now?" They nodded and handed me a medium sized box wrapped with colorful wrapping paper. I knew that it was mainly filled with candy. I opened it and stuck my hand into the box. I moved my hand through the candy until I hit something. I placed my fingers under the side of it and pulled it out. When I pulled it out I was so excited that I nearly screamed. It was Epic Fantasy Online. It is said to have the most realistic fighting out of all virtual reality games. I ran to my room, I opened the game and placed it into my virtual reality console. I jumped into my bed and put my headset on. I pressed the button on the side. I was transported to a black room. A menu popped in front of my face that read, "Character creation" with a green check mark under the words. I tapped the check mark. The menu flew to the side, and a new menu came in. I customized my character to be a swordsman who looks almost exactly like me. I stared at the character, it was like looking into a mirror. The character had the same dark blue eyes and brown hair that I had. I decided that I wanted to add something special. I opened the menu and tapped buttons that would give me a streak in my hair. When I went back to the overview , I saw the section of my hair that was in front of my ear turn blue. I smiled then confirmed my look. A ring of light went down me. After that I looked down and saw that I now looked like my character. It then asked me for a username, and I put in the username I always use. Time to play.
