When I woke up, my surroundings were green. Looks like I was playing video games all night again. I took of my headset, then sat up to check the time. Before I could look at the clock, my roommate came through the door. She had a small smile on her face, and her hands behind her back "What is it Stacy?" I asked her. She brought her hands forward to reveal a small rectangular item wrapped in leftover Christmas wrapping paper with a small red ribbon on top. "Happy... Late... Birthday... From your parents," Stacy answered with her cute British accent. Stacy is my roommate, friend, and one of the few kids at this all girls boarding school that speak English as a first language. Most people here speak mainly Japanese. Stacy walked over to me and sat down. She place her hand on my shoulder and handed me the gift. "You okay?" I stared at the gift, sad and mad at the same time. This is the first time that I wasn't able to see my parents on my birthday. Last year, I was able to catch a flight to America. This year, I missed my flight. It wasn't my fault though. It was the fault of Kaiya and her friends. "Go on, open it," Stacy encouraged. I ripped off the ribbon and tore the wrapping paper to reveal the brand new video game that game out last week, Epic Fantasy Online. I popped the game into my console, and placed the headset on my head. Stacy stood up and went to her bed. "Are you going to play it now? What about the plans we had to go to the movie theatre?" She asked. "We can go see a movie another day," I answered. "Please? I have been waiting for this for a while," she pleaded. I took off my headset and went to put on my uniform. "Fine," I said, unbuttoning my pajama shirt, "but after the movie, we are coming right back. Deal?" Stacy sprang up happily, and nodded her head. "Deal!" Her perkiness made me giggle al little bit. Stacy is the most perky person I have ever met. I slipped on my boots, then we both headed out the door. "Do you want to invite Milly?" I asked her. She nodded, and we headed towards are friend's dorm.
"So you're going to see a movie, eh." Our sweet Canadian friend stated, thinking it over. "Sure, I would love to go." With that answer, the three of us headed out of the school.
