I have been signed to Empire for a week now and I have already recorded 2 songs for my album.Cookie said that she has an artist that she wants me to collaborate with. I am so excited I have never collaborated with another artist before it's always been me so I wonder how this process will go.
I walked in to empire this morning and I see Jamal sitting on the the bench writing in a notebook. I walked over to him and tape his shoulder and he jumped dropping his notebook on the ground.
I laughed picking his notebook and handing it to him."A little jumpy this mornings aren't we" I said sarcastically.
"Yeah it's been a long day"
"It's only 8:30 a the day has basically just started"
"Not when you have to deal with two overbearing, loud parents 24/7." He said laughing at the thought of his parents.
"Speaking of parents... have you seen your mom?" I said not knowing what studio she wanted me to meet her in.
"Oh I think she waiting for you in studio 2"
"Ok thanks I'll see you later" I said as he gave me an nod in response.
I walked to the elevators going to the floor where the studio were and looked for studio 2. When I found it I saw the door was open so I placed a small knock on the door, opening it at the same time walking in to see Cookie, Lucious and........Hakeem. What is he doing here?
"Hey Cookie"
"Hey Tinashe you ready to record your single today?" She said giving me a hug as I walked and gave everyone a hug except Hakeem.
" yeah I'm ready so who's the artist I'm collaborating with?" I asked.
"You and Hakeem will be on this track together. In fact we plan on putting you guys together on several tracks because your both single and new artist and it can cause attention to turn y'all way."
I was hoping she didn't say that because his attitude and personality doesn't rub me right he seems self centered and stuck up and I couldn't stand it.
But I rather deal with his terrible attitude for a fews songs and become famous then do the song with by myself and nobody listens or doesn't pay any attention to it.
"Ok that's cool. Are we still making a remix to 2On?"
"Yup so since we have you original version already Hakeem get in the studio and put a rap in where you think it belongs we're going to just play the instrumental and after that Tinashe you can get back in the studio and fill in the patches sounds good?" She asked after explaining the process.
I nodded but Hakeem just walked into the studio complete ignoring his mom's question. Cookie just let out a sigh,shaking her head before turning to the soundboard.
She played the beat and Hakeem found a place where he wanted to put his lyrics and started rapping.
