"Is it safe to go out yet?" I asked Toby. We hadn't heard anything in a while but I wasn't sure. He looked out the side of the shelter and nodded. On the inside, I was yelling YES! But that didn't last for long. Toby was in front of me, so he saw the what was left of our village first. His almond eyes were as big as when he saw me naked (I have some regrets). I walked out next and my eyes grew too. Everything we loved and cherished, gone. Just imagine coming home from the Dollar Store, and seeing everything gone. I sat down and tried to calm down while Toby looked for survivors.
Toby's POV
I wanted to stay and comfort Sarah,but I couldn't let others die on account of one person. So I ran out the shelter and ran with tears in my eyes. After a little while of searching every nook and cranny, I saw Hyria looking under a fallen roof.
"Hyria!" I called.
She lowered the roof and walked towards me. "Thank Irene you're alive!" She chuckled. "Did you find anyone else?" She looked happy.
Why can't she just do a scan with her wand?
"Only Sarah, and you?"Her smile suddenly turned to a frown. "No one." She croaked. "Take me to her so I can get you to safety." I led her to the shelter where Sarah was fiddling with her thumbs. Her eyes were red from crying. "Hyria!" She shouted as she ran towards us. Sarah hugged Hyria and me as if we've been gone for 15 years (If you know what I mean lima bean). Once she let go Hyria got out her wand and said, "Bipity Bopity Boo!" And we left.Ye
