*beep, beep, beep*
"What the hell..." Sam groaned as she sat up looking at her phone '7:30 a.m.' She didn't set her alarm and was wondering where the beeping was coming from.
"Oh, morning Samantha! Sorry I set my alarm last night so we could get up in time for breakfast." Peggy had gotten up and was getting changed while Sam sluggishly got out of bed. "Um... do you mind stepping outside???" Peggy smiled and nodded as she went into the hall. After she was outside Sam locked the door and started to grab her clothes and got dressed letting Peggy back in afterwards.
"I'm heading to breakfast wanna come??"
"No thanks.. I need to finish unpacking."
"Okay. I'll grab you something." and with that she left the room to go to the first floor, where the kitchen was, while Sam started to put her clothes into her plastic dresser on her side of the closet and setting up her desk. Sam spent the next half hour setting up her cork board on the wall by the bed pinning up pictures, notes, her calendar, and then after things from her friends. She packed away the boxes, her bag, and threw away the trash around the dorm. Once she was done she grabbed her laptop and started scrolling through Tumblr updating her blog and posting a few things here and there till Peggy come back around 8:45.
-------
"Samantha I'm back!"
"Oh... hey Peggy... you took awhile"
"Yeah sorry I got lost on my way back and I was trying to grab the good stuff" She handed Sam a chocolate muffin, milk carton, and cereal carton with a plastic spoon. Sam began to eat still typing on her computer as Peggy shuffled through her bag pulling out a disk and putting it into her stereo.
"You into Fall Out Boy?"
"Yeah..." Sam didn't really want to talk since she was working on a story she was making for her friend Caitlyn back in New York. She had been working on it for a few a weeks and needed to get it done before next Monday and she was only half done with half of it.
"So what are you majoring in?" It was obvious that Peggy was trying to start a conversation since Sam hadn't really spoken to her that much. She didn't want to talk but she didn't want Peggy to think she was a jerk or anything.
"Writing, mainly fictional." Sam had been writing stories and fan fictions since second grade and fell in love with the hobby from that day forth.
"That's cool. I'm majoring in Art."
"I noticed." Peggy hung up a few of her art pieces and had been drawing in her sketch book yesterday before heading to bed and she wasn't bad she was really good.
After that Peggy went to put on some music with the small CD player she brought that sat on her desk and started to sing along to the song while she pulled out some clothes looking through the small pile.
"Going out?" Sam was secretly hoping so then she could work in peace for a good amount of time.
"Yeah a few of my friends invited me out tonight. Wanna come??"
"No I'm good, I've got work to go." Sam saw the look on Peggy's face and she knew the look, that look meant she wasn't going to be allowed to stay in the dorm tonight
"Please Samantha. It'll just be Chris and Angel." Sam could tell she had no choice
"Fine, where are we going?"
"Angel's dorm, her and Chris are roommates I'm heading there in a bit."
"Okay..."
------
Peggy lead Sam to the dorm, it was number twelve on the fourth floor and it was a bit was bit smaller than Sam and Peggy's. Peggy had knocked on the door and a girl that had hair that was black on one side an red on the other.
"Peggy! Glad you could make it." she looked at Sam and nudged Peggy "Who's this?~" Peggy had gained small blush on her face.
"She's my roommate!" Peggy glared at the girl
"Oh okay, well come in."
They both walked in seeing a person who must've been Chris and the girl must've been Angel. Sam was slightly confused why Chris and Angel shared a room since girls and guys had separate dorms. Chris looked to be the same height as Sam while Angel and Peggy were a bit shorter. They were all different in body sized, height, hair, and basically anything other people would have in common. Angel had her different color hair-black and red- was about 5'2" and fairly skinny but in a healthy way. Chris had the shortest hair out of all of the, with bangs that had turquoise tips, was slightly chubby and for being a boy had the body structure of a female but seemed to be 5'7". Peggy had long curly hair that was out of control with the colors of ginger and red but they were natural hair colors, she had red glasses, and was fairly chubby and was maybe 5'0". Sam on the other hand had short brunette hair that went to her shoulder, 5'7.5", and was what you would call petite.
Sam sat on the small bean bag that was in the corner by the desk while the others sat around her.
Chris decided to start the conversations "Let's do introductions."
"I'm Chris. 18, majoring in Psychology and I'm from California."
"I'm Angel. 19, majoring in engineering and I'm from Kansas like Peggy." Peggy didn't go since they all knew her. She was 19 and an art major.
"What about you?" Sam got nervous a bit. She hated introductions
"Um... I'm Samantha but I go by Sam... Writing major for fictional writing.... 18 and I'm from New York City" Chris smiled he was probably glad he wasn't the youngest in the room.
"Okay. Now this is a very important question. Where do you all wanna go tonight?" Angel had changed the topic to tonight's plans pretty quickly but who could blame her. School started in two days so the last chance to party your life away was tonight.
"I was thinking about hitting up a club tonight be wild and crazy!"
"We aren't legal to drink Angel.."
"I know Chris. Come on lighten up, tonight will be the last time we can go party before we're all dying of sleep deprivation and stress."
Everyone seemed to agree with her but the thought of possibly getting caught didn't seem fun to Sam.
"I don't mean to be a buzz kill but I don't actually feel like risking the chance of getting caught..." Sam waited for an answer nervous if what someone would say.
"Samantha is right Angel. I can't loose my scholarship and you know that. Without it I won't be able to stay here." Peggy seemed to have the same thoughts as Sam at the moment but being the open person she is, she was able to word things better.
"Fine. What about movie and dinner, and no fancy restaurants I mean take out and we do whatever we find fun to do along the way."
Everyone agreed to that plan. Sure it seemed plain and simple but it was safer and less risky.
