"The tree". These are the words I kept hearing in a faint whisper as I dreamt. In this dream I could see myself running. What from I did not know. As I ran the whisper never once stopped. It was like a rythm that was terrifying, yet familliar. In this dream I always ran through a forest. I've had this dream so many times, I could probablly find my way through this forest if I were to be put in this situation. As I ran I could hear demonic growls from behind me. These sounds force me in the direction of an odd looking tree. Surrounding the tree is nothing. It was like the area had been cleared of all foliage, leaving only this ginormous, centuries old looking tree. When I arrived at the base of the tree, all light began to vanish. As the darkness spread the whispers grew louder. As the volume increased the voice began to sound like it beared a meanning. Then everything was dark.

This is the dream that haunted us all. I'm writing this to tell you the story of me and two others, who went on an adventure people can only dream about.

As I walked towards the tree I noticed two others coming towards the tree as well. As we slowly met up at the base of the tree the one girl from the three of us introduced herself. "My name is Hope" she said. She had blonde hair, and blue eyes. She was very attractive. Considering her courage to speak first, and to travel through the forest we all just ventured through, she obviously wasn't the kind of girl to put on make-up and brag about designer clothes. She looked like the kind of girl who is courageous, and determined. Before I had a chance the boy spoke out. "I'm john." he said. He had dirty blonde hair that was cut very short. He looked like a sporty guy.

He also looked determined. Finally it was my turn to introduce myself."And I'm Alex." I said, trying to wrap up this awkward conversation, so I could start a new one, on the topic of why were all here. "Well now that we all know eachother, have you guys been having strange dreams?" I asked, hoping they'd say yes. "Yes." they both said simoltaneously.

We stood there just staring at eachother for a while. "This is the tree from the dream isn't it." Hope asked looking up at the gigantic tree. The tree, like in the dreams, was surrounded by a circle of nothing, and beyond that nothing was a forest. At the base of the tree sat leaves from the branches above. These leaves were different though. They were a blackish brown rather than the normal brown, orange, and red. We all paced around the tree, looking for something to tell us what were to do next.

"Hey come check this out!" John said with a mixture of enthusiasm and curiosity. "Do you think there's something in it?" Hope said, staring at the hole in the tree. The hole looked like your average owl hole in an old tree, but this one was unusually larger in size.

As I stood by the tree I began to hear the whispers. Whether or not it was just my mind or something more, I still don't know to this day. But judging by the faces of Hope and John, they heard it too. We all tried our best to shake off the feeling of our dreams coming to life, but the fear of the darkness coming terrified us all.

"Someone prop me up, I'm going to see if anything is in there." Hope said, refusing to let her fear take over her curiosity. John and I both took one foot and propped her up, allowing her to look into the tree. She looked in, "Nothing." she announced disappointedly. I think we all were. We had all expected this hole to be the next hint to what was next. But still we kept her propped up, refusing to let this journey through the forest to be a waste of time.

She looked in one more time, letting out a large, unsatisfied sigh. What happened next both surprised us all, but also made us regret coming to the tree. a black creature with long joker like ears, came up and grabbed Hope by the shoulders, from inside the tree. The creature had no face, adding to the horror. It made demonic growls like the darkness in the dream, but higher in pitch. John and I tried to pull Hope out but her flailing legs were impossible to grab hold of.

It took about 3 minutes for the tree creature to drag her into the tree. Within this time John and I could do nothing but listen to Hopes screams. When she was finally consumed by tree, we stood there in shock looking at eachother. "We have to go after her!" John screamed. But before I could even respond all light began to vanish. Then just like in the dream, everything went dark.
