Narrative PoV
Troye Sivan Mellet ran through his school halls hastily, eager to meet his two best friends, Connor Franta and Jacob Bixenman in the school cafeteria. As he made his way into the cafeteria, he spotted the two boys chatting by their usual table.

"Sup guys" Troye smiled as he slapped Jacob on the back. "Hi Troye" Connor and Jacob both said in unison. The three boys laughed and continued with the conversation. "How was swim practice, con?" Troye asked casually. "Eh. Could be better could worse. Max was there and he helped me out a lot, I'm getting better and I think I really have a chance of getting nation-"

"Wait Max?" Jacob butted in, looking alarmed. Connor stared at him, raising an eyebrow "Uh yeah, what's the issue?" He asked accusingly. "Con, you know what he's done to me. And so do you Troye" Jacob said, pointing at them both. "Cmon Jacob that was years ago. You need to grow up" Con replied with an angry tone. "Besides, he's only helping me with my swimming. We're not even friends".

Jacob shook his head. "Whatever, go ahead, continue"

*Jacob's flashback to his young school days & his POV*

I walked on the footpath slowly. Praying Max didn't come. I was almost home, almost there. I could literally see my house, when suddenly-

"Well well well" I heard a voice call out behind me.

I closed my eyes and turned around slowly to be greeted with a big Max towering over me.

"Wha-what do you want" I managed to get out in a soft whimper.

Max eyed up at the iPod poking out of my pocket. He then pointed to it, and indicated he wanted it.

"Max please I've been saving for that for months" I pleaded, tears streaming down my cheek. He seemed to think for a while, then he smirked again.

"I'll put it this way, you give me that iPod or me and my friends give you something to actually cry about"

I handed him the iPod and ran away, bawling my eyes out.

Every single day, this happened to me. No breaks. My mum would ask where the bruises came from, where my new headphones or other belongings had gone. But I couldn't tell her. Of course I couldn't. It would just make it worse.

For 8 years, Max made my life a living hell. When I finally made it to secondary school it stopped. He left me alone. But he never apologised, never returned my stuff. I avoid him, he laughs at me.

I still get the nightmares about him.

*Back to present time, narrative POV*

The rest of the day was a bore for the boys, with lessons dragging on and Jacob struggling to avoid thoughts of Max. But when it finally did come to the end of school, it's safe to say the boys were relieved and ready to hang out for the rest of the evening.

Troye's POV
I headed over to the tree house in which Con, Jacob and I were set to hang out in. We've always used that tree house since we were kids, it looks a lot different to what it used to look like now though.

We spent most of the evening just playing on our old PlayStation, although the competitiveness was through the roof, as we all battled it out in multiple games of Call Of Duty. The tree house means a lot to me and I think I can say the same for Con and Jacob. Thinking back when we were only seven years old, and we begged my dad to build us a tree house to play in, is nostalgic beyond words. I'd practise my singing in there whilst Con and Jacob would play foosball, we'd play hide and seek and when our parents would call us inside for the night, we'd be gutted.

And now, here we were ten years later, making even more memories in the tree house. Crazy.

I was snapped out of my daydream when I heard Con cheering in triumph. "Damn it" Jacob muttered. "Another point goes to me!" Con whistled as he added a point to his tally on our leaderboard. "You're not that far ahead of me. It's only like what, fourteen points?" Jacob joked. Troye chuckled and Con stood there beaming.

A couple hours past and eventually we were all laying down, listening to Twenty Øne Piløts new album, Blurryface when Con began to look uneasy.

"Connor are you alright?" I whispered to him as Jacob got up to get a drink.

"I need to tell you guys something. But Jacob isn't going to be happy"

"It'll be okay" I answered, wondering what all this is about.

Jacob sat down, and for the next half hour, Con didn't say a word. We continued to listen to the album until he finally broke the silence. "Guys I have to talk to you about something" Con blurted out.

Jacob shifted into a more comfortable position and sat up to look at Connor. "What 'bout?" He asked, concern in his voice.

"Well erm you see... The thing is that um... Well basically I was walking home from school and well uh I bumped into Max and -"

Jacob suddenly became tense at the mention of Max. Connor stopped to look at him but Jacob just nodded his head, indicating Connor to continue.

"Well, long story short, he asked me if I would like to go out with him sometime and I ... I said yeah" Connor finally managed to say. Nervous sweat poured down his face as he tried to make eye contact with Jacob, but Jacob turned away.

"I can't believe this" I heard Jacob say in a faint whisper.

"I can't believe this" he said again, this time much louder.

"I CANT BELIVE THIS!" He eventually boomed out, getting up from his chair and throwing it hard on the ground, causing the tree house to rock uneasily.

"Jacob lets just take a deep breath okay just calm down" I said, trying my best to tame him.

"SHUT UP TROYE NO CARES WHAT YOU BLOODY THINK! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PAIN HE CAUSED ME? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH HE MADE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL? HOW MANY ENDLESS NIGHTS OF CRYING? AND BEFORE YOU ANSWER - I KNOW ITS NO! JUST DONT BOTHER OPENING YOUR STUPID UGLY MOUTH!" Jacob cried.

Con and I looked at each other, helpless. "Jacob..." Con said. "Please. It's not that big of a deal" he reasoned.

Jacob just looked at him acidly. "Yano what.." Jacob said laughing. "I'm done with this"

And with that he shook his head and made his way to the door.

"Jacob.." I tried.

Con turned to me. "It's no use" he sighed.

Without turning around, Jacob gave Connor the finger from over his head, and left the treehouse, leaving his belongings and ten year friendships behind.

What could happen next?
