Jackson's POV:
Today everyone is going on a camping trip and I'm so excited. Were going to go hiking and canoeing and all kinda of stuff. Then at night were gonna roast hotdogs and marshmallows then sleep in tents. The shewolf pack are in one tent while everyone else is in the other, bigger tent.

After a long day its night time. We're all sitting around a camp fire singing songs. We all sing the flin stones theme song.

:::in the tents:::

The tent that all the kids are in has three rooms. We decided to put Max and Tommy in a room together on the right side. Ramona wanted to be on the left side so I'm in between them. Not that I mind it though. It's probably best that I'm in the middle. I can protect everyone, I am the man of the tent. I turn around when I head laughing. "What are you laughing at Mona?"
"You were thinking out loud." She says, laughing.
I turn bright red, embarrassed that she heard me. She walks over to me and sits down. I'm pretty sure "I would be the one protecting you." She laughs.
"Fine let's go out on a late night hike and I'll prove I can protect you." I say, standing up.
Ramona grabs my hand and I pull her up. I pulled a little hard and she falls into me, I catch her of course. "See I'm already protecting you."
"That does not count." She pouts but then brakes out laughing.

:::on the trails:::

"Jackson I think we should go back," she pauses "what if the others need us and were not there?"
"Ramona calm down it'll be fine, don't worry so much."
Right as I say that she starts to slip. I reach out to grab her but also slip. Luckily there is a ledge there that we both landed on.
"Jackson how are we gonna get back to the tents? I knew this wasn't a good idea. I knew we should have stayed."
"Hey calm down" I say them start looking around to find a way to get back up.
"Its not to far how about you stay on my hands and climb up there. Then you go get the adults." I say, coming up with the plan as I spoke.
"But I don't want to leave you." She protests.
"I'll be fine"
After about five more minutes of going back and forth Ramona agrees.

She stands on my locked fingers and climbs up to the top.
"I'll be right back." She says as she runs back towards the tents.

Less than ten minutes later Ramona is back with her mom, my mom and Aunt Steph. They are able to reach down and grab me. They pull me up and then pull me into a hug.

We all walk back to the tents, the adults in the front. Ramona and I in the back holding hands.
"I think this means that I'm the one that protected you." Ramona says, smiling.
"Next time let me protect you." I beg.
"Okay, fine" she say, as we get back to our tents.
"Goodnight kids, please don't run off again" my mom says, not even turning around.
"Okay" we say in perfect unison.
We both get in the tent and check on the others.
"So sense I'm the one that protects you maybe I should sleep out here." Ramona say.
"As long as I get to sleep out here to." I respond.
"Deal." We both say, then start laughing softly.

We both lay down and fall asleep. Ramona in my arms.
