They can wait for

18 candles on my cake

i can't wait like they can

18 wishes i will be able to make

an adult at last

how does this life go

by so fast

Last I knew you were 9

that was 9 years ago

i miss that girl you were

now you're not my baby girl no more

i miss that cute little girl

that always wanted me

now you want to get on out

and go run without me

i wish i could go with you

but i got to let you go

i will miss that cute little girl

why can't she come back

just that cute little girl that

wanted to sit on my lap

and me to tuck her in at night

i want that cute little girl back

I guess i will have to just keep

my wishes in for now

you are the big 18 now

you are an adult

not sure how but you are

you are a great girl

and you will always be my

baby girl no matter how old u are

just remember that

I love you and Happy Birthday
