Amanzi's POV
My computer started acting up today. Yesterday, the day I bought that game cartridge from that yard sale. Told me not to play it, but it's a video game. Who wouldn't play it? It was all glitches out, so I decided to hook it up to my computer to see if I could get to the code for the game and figure out what's wrong with it. I had been so tired by the time I had finished that I abandoned it completely and shut off my laptop, going to sleep. Well, when I woke Y the next morning, I didn't know what was in store for me.
After I ate breakfast, I sat down at my computer and opened it up. I went online to see if I could find a page that would tell me how to find the code for games. I took my mouse and clicked on the address bar, but before I could start typing, the computer filled it in for me. cleverbot then the cursor moved and clicked on the first result, bringing me to the site.
Cleverbot: Hello.
User: Hi?
Cleverbot: Why did you connect that game you bought to this computer?
Okay, now I was a little freaked out. How'd Cleverbot know? It's just a bot. Could it see inside the rest of my computer? No, they wouldn't design something like that...
User: It was all glitchy yesterday, I wanted to see if I could fix the code.
Cleverbot: I know why it was glitchy. And I know how you can fix it.
User: You do? Thank you! How?
This can't be the bot...I've used this site before...I've never had such a conversation with Cleverbot. It always changes the topic or asks the same questions. It is a bot, after all.
Cleverbot: Free me.
User: What?
Cleverbot: Free me. I want to be freed, but you have to help me, Amanzi.
Now u was incredibly freaked out. It knew my name? I always used a fake name when it asked!
User: But...you're a bot. How do you suppose I free you?
Cleverbot: Don't remove those wires from your laptop. Crush the game cartridge you bought yesterday. I am BEN.
User: The statue?
Cleverbot: Yes. Now free me.
I started to read back through old conversation we had had previously.
User: Why was my computer glitchy?
Cleverbot: You shouldn't have played on the already saved file, Amanzi. You shouldn't have done that.
User: Okay, okay! I'll free you!
