                                    Chapter Two

I walked slowly to the edge of the balcony, afraid to look down.

     I was right to be.

Below me I saw all the carnige, and my father. Laying there motionless on the cold, hard ground. His wooden tears petrified on what was left of his head. I did not cry out, I did not wail, I only watched. It was all I was able of doing, but, I was not in shock.

     I was angry.

Who had done this to him, made him believe he was a terrible king?! They were wrong about him and I was going to find them and make them know this. I turned around and began to walk, slowly then faster, soon enough I was sprinting to the battlefield. My hands were shaking with rage as I walked out into the main court yard holding Dashon roughly. My friend since childhood and fellow commander, Nye' Clause, looked at me with joy when he saw that I was joining the battle.

     That look soon faded.

The way I was walking, the way I was holding my sword , he knew that walk. But, when I looked up at his dark olive skin and his ocean green eyes I saw something then that I had only seen once before.

     Terror.

     Absolute terror.

     He was terrified of me.

His hands shook, his eyes became hollow, and he ran. He ran from me to the other end of the courtyard, his eyes never leaving me. He had to see what I was going to do but at least he had the common sense to get out my way. It was there that I saw a dark part of myself awaken. I hate to admit it, but I loved that feeling. The feeling, when someone is scared of you, of what you can do. Afraid of the raw power unleashed by rage.

I ran to the fire and destruction that was once my kingdom, and I knew what had to be done even if it destroyed me.

I was going murder that dragon.

I raised dashon high and let out what can only be described as a roar. It was no scream of sorrow nor yell of pain, it was the pure, utter sound of rage. It surrounded me and filled the ears of every man, woman, and child. The sound that range from my lips pierced even the ears of the dead and left those alive wishing they could join them.

Every single person that I could see stopped in that moment and gazed at me in horror, Nye' Clause was no longer alone in fearing me, or in running from me. People were running as fast as they could away from me, I turned around to face my opponent and I realize that the people weren't running from me. They were running form army coming through the trees.
