How does a legend become a myth? The answer isn't so simple, it starts with some truth, lots of time, fear, disgust and distrust. Faeries are great examples of legends turned myth. Though this wasn't done overnight or by chance it was intentional on the part of Faeian kind. For you see that early man was primitive, uncivilized and lacked the basic comprehension for the laws of fae magic that had ruled long before human creation. Faeian law was simply the first being for every magical reaction there must be an exchange of energy, the second law states that all living things have magic, magic is interchangeable between all beings, law four while all magic can be exchanged they are not equal and the just amount should be forth given. Faes believed at first they could teach humans to use magic, the results had been catastrophic. The elders chalked it up to the first human not understanding the laws of Faeian Magic so with the second they stressed these basic rules. The first human grew jealous and killed the other human swearing to end the existence of the Faeian race. A small cruel group of power-seeking humans banded together under Castel Bute the first human to ever possess Faerie magic. Over the years Castel Bute became like a god to his people due to never aging, this phenomenon made him revered in his own fanatic circle. While Lord Castel Bute was revered by his followers the average Human was oblivious to his existence and influence that shaped the history of mankind. To the Faeian elders who had to watch as the humans, they bestowed magic upon, caused atrocious and unspeakable evils. Lord Bute's heinous acts become more painfully obvious to the elders felt the need to hide magic from humans. As time passed, Lord Bute appeared to be a madman rambling about nonsense. Bute's threats of Faeian genocide became reality near the dawn of world war 2. faeries were eliminated like the common pest. It became apparent to the remaining elders and Faeian leaders that the human race wasn't ready for magic. Some Faes believe that humans would never be ready for the magic that the reason they weren't born with it was that they simply weren't worthy. While this was a common belief among the average faerie it was not the belief of the elders of senior faeries. The most revered counsel of Elder's prophesied that a day would come when Faes would need the humans and a savior with a Faeian heart would come. Most Faes believed this to be a myth, the idea of a human understanding of the laws of magic impossible and simply barbaric. Humans could never follow these laws and their short life spans made it hard for them to learn in some ways humans were like wolves, only after the kill though unlike the wolves, humans had no loyalty. The fae had become less and less patient as the centuries ticked by for the humans. The humans cut down the forest chased out the animals, killed almost all the forest spirits leaving the Fairies as the last magical elemental guardian on earth. The Fairies had enough at first they had been tolerant after all humans were a relatively new species and it took time for beings to find themselves but over the past 10,000 years the fae did not like what they had witnessed. In desperation, the fae sacrificed their size and went into hiding becoming the things of hushed legends and myths. As time seemed to tick endlessly by for the Faes who shield themselves within a special barrier the possibility of a human Keeper, a person with a pure heart would never exist. In desperation, many Faeian Elders sacrificed their life and size forcing the Faeries into hiding becoming the things of hushed legends and myths. As time seemed to tick endlessly by for the Faes who shield themselves within barriers the possibility of a human Keeper, a person with a pure heart would never exist. within a special magical barrier designed to keep out humans and unwanted pests. Things in the Faeian civilization stabilized and much like their human counterpart stories of the others were passed around bedtime stories leading us to the events that would ultimately fulfill an age-old prophecy.
