Centuries pass by in a blur to the Faeian Race who stayed within the only remaining settlement which is located in a highly wooded area in Wyre Falls, a nationally protected forest that was just outside of a small town. The turn of the twentieth century saw an increase in humans caring about natural wildlife. These attempts actually disturbed the fairies. Every time a human would get too close to the barrier chaos would ensue. After all the years the barrier was finally beginning to weaken. Making it possible for the Faes to see outside the once-solid barrier into what was regarded as the human world. The thinning of the barrier caught one young fairies' attention. Every day the young faerie would fly as close to the barrier as she could to see the other world. One day the young fairy saw a brightly colored flower floating passed the out barrier. At first, the young faerie couldn't believe what she was seeing surely it was a trick of the eye. Flowers don't float or fly like birds. As the young Fae reached out past the barriers to try and touch the thing floating bye. However, the inner barrier prevented her from touching the flower-shaped balloon. An older faerie placed her hand gently on Marina's shoulder drawing her attention from the balloon.

"Marina," The female faerie said softly. "Please, Return to your assignments, I believe your section is responsible for planting flowers for the Queen's arrival from the eastern end." Marina sighed, she had never been outside her small village even the eastern end that was on the other side of Wyre National Park.

"Marina, come away from there" The youngest fairy in the settlement groaned returning to her work. Every fairy had a job and an assignment though she had never felt her role in the village was important. Marina often wondered if it was because she was technically a child at only eight hundred. Marina longed for the day she would find her purpose. Marina knew that for a Faerie she had it made living inside of Wyre Falls which was a picturesque little village with a bunch of warm cozy cottages made from sticks and saps. Several different kinds of Faeries livid within the falls. Water type faeries, Earth, Wind and even a family of fire faeries were visiting from the last volcanic settlement. While Marina was caught up in her thoughts she didn't feel the small spike in energy. If she had she would have known that the village was under attack. Panicking screams filled the village as Paladin Faeries the army of the faeries arrived to try and keep out the intruder. No one could get a good look as to what the creature had been. Marina in all the commotion was pushed into the thinning barrier. Marina cried for help as she slipped through the edge of the barrier her small little wings picked upwind causing her to be blown into a nearby tree. Frazzled she landed there trying to get her thoughts in order.

Fearfully she stared at her village at a loss of how to get down. While she was contemplating out of the corner of her eye a figure from Faeian nightmares emerged. A raven transformed into an above-average sized faerie who seemed to be scouting the area as aware of her presence. Marina didn't dare move as she was spotted. Desperately she tried to get unhandled from the tree. Chaotically she plummeted towards the ground as the second breeze of wind pushed her farther up into the air through a wind draft. While she was being whisked away she was a great cup and terrified to see the Raven following after her. Meanwhile just outside Wyre Falls National park is the old Wyre Inn a young red-haired boy was crying over his lost flower-shaped balloon. The young boy had begged his mother for the same one as his female twin despite the teasing from his four other older brothers. Alistair Eion Boyle was very small for his age. He stood at a height that made him appear no older than a toddler his twin sister surpassing him in height at a little over 4'3. The staggering height difference could be compared to a large tree and small flower. Alistair tried to stop crying as his brother called him a baby. His twin glared at her brother Jonathan who was only a few years older and quite a bit of a brat. "Here you can have mine," Alistair twin sister said trying to hand the brightly colored string to him. Alistair shook his head and pulled a big smile at his sister's thoughtfulness. "It's okay" Alistair gave his twin a small watery smile. "You keep it," She stared at her brother for a moment then let go of the balloon. "Let's go play" The twins ran off to play for several hours before their mother had to chase out all the children as guests had arrived. The six children knew the rules out of the house between eleven and four which were the hours of peeking traffic. Alistair ducked out of the inn as his mother screamed after the older two boys who often made their mother's job a thousand times harder with there antics. The small boy sighed his sister always wanted to grow up and would often tell him to do the same. However, Alistair believes growing up was overrated. He looked around the inn to the left was the old barn where the handyman would tinker away for hours on end. Alistair was never quite sure about the old man who often stared at him with a far off look that gave him the heebie-jeebies. Alistair Tiptoed over to the barn climbed on top of a few bags of wobbly corn feed and peeked into the barn through an open window that was missing the shutters. The old man was fast asleep face down on his workbench. Alistair wondered why his mother let the man stay. He tiptoed into the barn running ours with a jar, some tape, a screwdriver, a cloth, and a pencil. With those items, he constructed his own devices to catch some insects. As the youngest child, Alistair has always been painfully aware of the fact his family was poor, especially after the death of their father. Things had become really tight he wouldn't dare ask his mother for something silly. The only reason the children had received balloons that morning had been because of them going to a doctor's visit. Alaister was okay with not having money. He was always able to occupy himself, unlike his sibling who would go into town and cause all kinds of trouble. So he did what he always did when alone. He went to go insect hunting. Which was very uneventful he ventured far from the house a cold breeze pushing over him as he saw the glistening wings of what he assumed was a blue butterfly. "Al, were, back!" Cried his sister from the porch. Alister quickly snatched the butterfly out of the air and began running towards the house in excitement to show his sister. If you asked him what it had been the signaled that the creature had been a butterfly he would have said the blue hair and two arms.

Alister stopped in his tracks and did a double-take, peered into the jar in utter disbelief. Surely his eyes must be deceiving him. So he looked again at a tiny winged creature with a human-like body staring back at him with angry frightened eyes. Alistair's childish mind immediately went to his mother's bedtime stories, he was certain this was a faerie. No creature except those in his sister's picture books even remotely resembled the creature with the exception of a butterfly the faeries wings were very much like that of a butterfly. Alistair saw the desperation in the small creatures' eyes and instantly felt bad for caging her. Alistair set down the jar carefully on the dirt and opened the lid. The two beings stared at each other like two cowboys in a gun match waiting for the other to make their move.

Slowly the blue-haired fairy began to attempt to climb the walls of the jar for a moment, she had to find a way back home. Alister wondered why the faerie wasn't flying out. As he looked into the glass he noticed a large gash on the faeries wing. Slowly Alistar laid down the jar trying not to jostle the faerie too much.

"Are you okay?" Alistair asked softly getting on his knees to look inside the jar. He waited for a response but one never came. Alister watched the faerie with fascination.

"I guess faeries don't talk" he said disappointed as he began to move away a small chirp caught his attention.
