I haven't heard from the kids yet, so far. Lance kept his opinions to himself and focused on telling me where to turn. The city is full of the dead. Whatever we'll try to do now is a desperate move. We're hours too late.
A knock came from behind, "I could hear a lot of them!" said the voice. Tywin. If only he could see what's happening outside.
I opened the cover that separates the back from the driver's seat, "The whole city's been infected. Do not open the back door." I said to him, to everyone. I felt Tywin's eyes peering through the hole, looking at the event happening outside.
"Jesus." he breathed and scrambled away, probably to tell the others. After a minute, I could feel all of them peering out of the hole.
"Can we go out and kill?" Lucy asked. I could hear absolute enthusiasm from her, but she's also serious about what she wants.
"Not now. Not today. We better wait on what they'll say." I answered.
"Mmm, no fun." Holly said quietly.
"It's the safest move, though." said Miles, also peering through the cover.
"We're almost there. Turn left before the S-COM building, the Parliament Hill is just straight ahead." said Lance, looking at the view outside.
"I hope it's not infected." said Lucy.
"Impossible. The Parliament Hill is the only building here in Australia that is heavily defended." Lance retorted.
"Oh, they have Prime Ministers in Australia too?" asked Holly.
Lance nodded, "Yes. The Parliament Hill doesn't accept any visitors. Even other government officials from anywhere else have very strict entrance requirements." he said.
"Would we have strict entrance requirements?" Tywin asked.
Lance shook his head, "No. You all must have to get in immediately. Sir Scott requires immediate meeting. It's getting worse." he said.
"Is he the Prime Minister?" Holly asked.
"No. But he has the second highest position in the government." Lance answered.
The kids fell silent as I drove on. The zombies got less and less as we were approaching the S-COM building. I guess Lance and the kids noticed. I could also see fallen zombies on the ground. A defense mechanism must've happened here earlier.
"I guess you're right." I said to Lance. He nodded.
I turned the wheels to the left as instructed. By now Ambrosia's group is far done with their briefing. Remi's group must've been done too. We have parallel situations happening. Similar, but not the same.
"There's no zombies around here. I couldn't hear any rotten joints moving anymore." Tywin said through the cover hole. He's right. The Australian government must've focused on this place.
"Straight ahead." Lance instructed. It's a deserted city. The continuously darkening sky gives off an eerie aura around the place. It's really like those places in zombie movies.
"This area reminds me of the Slender Man gameplay." said Tywin.
"It's scary here." said Lucy.
"Probably because we always go out and kill in the morning and don't have much night killing experiences." said Holly, who sounded farther than the others.
"Are we there yet?" Lucy asked.
"Almost. The building looks like three uneven lego sized blocks stuck together side by side. Not on top of each other." said Lance. That made me want to search for the building but remembered that Astra is back in France. God, this team is so lonely when it's incomplete.
