Sitting outside expressionless, bouncing his cricket ball on a marbled floor. This was 8 years old Ahmed, first child of his parents.

A smashing sound of a door shut, noise of a skirm

Ahmed holded his both hands to his ears tight, so that no sludge of ferocious words settles his innocent mind and crosses his ears. He saw his father walked out the door in an aggravated manner while he heard his mother's helpless cries.

Ahmed grew upto this enviornment, everyday he saw his mother being tortured by his father and fall victim of his anger. They have never been a family' that confuses him too. What is to be like a family? He kept searching for these arduous terms in his dictionary of life. Sometimes the meaning is simple but understanding is hard when mind is insufficent to absorb. Maybe that's how you deal a woman when they don't provide what you ask for on time. And many disoriented images sketched in 8 years old mind.

He rushed in and stood by the kitchen door where his mother was working with teared eyes. She saw Ahmed,  swiftly wiped her tears so that little boy doesnot see them but he knew.

''I have made yummy potato rice balls for my son'', said mother.

He was silent just trying to figure out is mother really ok or she is hurt? Little mind in bewilderment. ''Would you like to eat, my son?'', she asked. Ahmed stayed quiet, blinking his wide sharp big lashed empty eyes' silent. He walked away saying,'' I don't like them''. He refused eating potato balls, he lost interest in any of his favourite things. Little boy with such saddness in his heart carried with his playing. His mother knew their matters were affecting his little innocent mind. He doesnot say anything but his sparkling eyes were losing it's shine.

Ahmed turned into a quiet and sterned boy, humorless, preoccupied in his thoughts.

As he grew, he started learning things earlier than his age. He engaged himself in his studies, yet he was a brilliant student with remarkable abilities, always stood first in class with great participation. But he had no friends, teachers liked him, appreciated him. Many of his fellows were jealous of him being praised all the time and valued. That is also the reason that he never had any good friends, he always failed this department being a reserved child.

''Look mama's boy carries a lunch box with him'' and a roar of laughter by a group of boys. He wiped his face with a handkerchief and silently moved to other corner.

He was dumbed, punned and given witty remarks. School, kids, crowd, Dad everything infuriated him to the extent that he come home pulling his hair and vexed. He  never showed his disrupted behaviour to his mother, as she gets fretted when he turns home like this but people relinquished no chance of getting under his skin.
