There is a land, across the sea
Across the rivers, mountains, trees
Where dreams come true, and all are free
A picture perfect island
But while that land, across the sea
Seems great and good, and all are free
Not all is bright, for in the trees
A slumb'ring beast lies waiting
"Waiting for what?" you ask in fear
This beast is fed on human tears
And now it waits for you, my dear
Its patience wearing thinner
"Will you go now, cross all those seas
Cross all those rivers, mountains, trees
And leave this land, learn to be free
And fight the waiting creature?"
"Will you restore, give back, the peace
And win the fight against the beast
And on return, your strength increased
Your struggle made you stronger?"
You nod your head, you try to find
The island that I just described
But alas, it's in your mind
Not found in worlds around you
The island is your hopes and dreams
The joy of life, the little things
A place where ev'ryone, it seems
Is kind and gentle to you
The beast is you, your doubts and fears
And yes, it feeds off of your tears
Hides in the dark, it looks and leers
It waits, to come and grab you
There is a land, across the sea
With a monster called anxiety
You can defeat him, you will see
With just a bit of courage

PoetryI wrote another poem that no one is going to read because my writing is awful.
