'Not So Much Of A "Good Morning", Thank You Very Much'
Levi trudged through the depressing streets of the Underground, hands shoved in his pockets. He received several glares as he glanced towards an alleyway. About 2 minutes before, he heard that the 'criminal' was on the loose again, and he wanted to talk to her. Being the most famous and strongest thug, he was sure he could take her down if he was unsatisfied with her presence. He also carried a small blade in his shirt, just in case.
Levi continued to trudge through the dark alleyway, unaware of the pair of eyes that were following him. He let out a small sigh before turning to leave. Suddenly, like sonic speed, an icy hand pulled him by the collar further into the mysterious alleyway. Being thrown in a puddle at the very end of the trampy place, he cursed at their actions and glared up at the figure that towered over his body as he lay the filthy ground. "Name." The figure said. It wore a jet black cloak and a cold, grey glare that happened to be locked with Levi's. The voice was feminine, but a slight powerful twist that made Levi fascinated. He stood up, only to realise how short the figure was. About 5"2. "Oi. It's rude to stare. I'm sure I asked you a question. Did I or did I not?" The feminine voice echoed through Levi's ears again.
"Levi." He spat, concealing the tremble from his hands after noticing how strong the figure was. In reality, nobody could ever haul Levi that far and throw him that hard on the ground. Questions flickered his brain, causing him to stiffen. "Yours?" He asked bluntly.
"I don't trust you, Levi." The figure said. Levi could practically hear her mentally sighing. Levi cursed under his breath, knowing he had been tricked. "I must get to know you before I can give you my name, idiot." It continued, making Levi's eyes widen at its insult.
"Tsk. Two can play that game, brat." Levi said obviously, continuing to stare underneath the hood in an attempt to try and see her facial expressions.
"Ugh. Quit staring at me, it's lame to do that to a lady." The figure teased, turning and walking away, back into darkness.
"Oi!" Levi yelled, running over to the cloaked girl. "Come back to my place, I must know your name, criminal." Levi asked, his words automatically rolling off his tongue, immediately mentally face palming himself afterwards.
"And if I decline?" The figure asked, arms crossed and stopping to face him.
"I'll have to plead for your name." Levi replied with a sly tone in his voice. He knew he'd win the battle.
"Fine, Levi Ackerman." The figure replied, continuing to walk out of the alleyway, only this time beside him.

Levi opened the door to his crooked home and strutted in, leaving the cloaked girl to shut the door herself. He waited at the dining table impatiently, waiting for her to tell him her name. "Levi Ackerman. Born December 25th, Aged 25." He suddenly heard the girl mutter from the lounge. Confusion boiling up inside of him, he scraped his chair off the floor and ran quickly into the room where the voice came from. He kept yelling random words that even he couldn't understand, until silence suffocated the air. Levi stopped immediately at the door of the living room, only to see the girl sat on the floor with a file at her knees. That was the files of his past and other information.
"Oi! What are you-"
"Levi Ackerman was raised by his uncle after the sad loss of his mother-"
"Stop-"
"Kuchel Ackerman."
"..."
A stray tear rolled down Levi's cheek as the name of his mother echoed through his head. All those years alone he had tried to avoid hearing her name, but now it was too late. The hole in his heart increased, growing bigger and bigger. His cold eyes becoming colder and colder. His emotions being more and more concealed. His depression becoming worse and worse. More and more tears threatened to fall. The girl just sat and stared in amazement, regret filling the air, she could practically hear the pain.
"Kaori Kato. My name is Kaori Kato." She sighed, standing up. "I am 24, born on October 31st, Halloween. I was abandoned at birth, resulting in me living alone and becoming a criminal. A killing machine." She continued, walking over to Levi and standing opposite him. Taking a deep breath, Kaori took her hood down. Levi's eyes widened at her appearance. Kaori had long jet black hair that draped over her back, bright bluish grey eyes and skin as pale as snow. Her scent was surprisingly pleasant, a bit like a blossomed flower. Her figure was thin, but many muscles were visible through her white shirt, the sleeves rolled halfway up. Levi hadn't seen anyone like her before, but her name rang a bell.
"Kaori Kato." Levi muttered, his tears suddenly stopping. The name made him feel the slightest bit of happiness, for a reason he was unaware of. Then he remembered her mentioning that she was a 'killing machine'. "Killing machine? Explanation." He demanded for answers, likely for him.
"Ya see this blade? It's mine." Kaori started, pointing to a sharp dagger tucked snugly in her black trouser front pocket. "I kill."

The sun was setting low and Kaori and Levi just stood opposite each other, both processing the new information received. It was a long, peaceful silence. For once, it wasn't one that was awkward or painful. It was almost... heartwarming. Only until a loud thump on the unstable wooden door of Levi's snapped them back to reality. "Oh yeah, I'm also extremely wanted." Kaori boringly added, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Levi acted fast, shoving her into a closet and locking it tight shut. "Well." Kaori began, sighing as Levi walked over to the front door. "This is such fun." She sarcastically commented in a harsh whisper. Levi only replied with a 'tsk' (again), swinging the door open. There stood two hooded men, green caped covering then. Both were about twice the size of Levi. 'They would probably be sky scrapers to Kaori' Levi thought. "Good evening. We are looking for a civilian that goes by the name 'Hooded Criminal'." One man asked, staying as still as a statue. Kaori heard the voice, instantly gasping.
"The Survey Corps." Kaori choked out, just quiet for nobody but her and Levi to hear. The Survey Corps had been tracking her down for three years now, for reasons she was unaware of. Every time they went out to find her, their mission had failed. Kaori was too good with her hiding spots for the Survey Corps, with the help of her midnight black hood.
Levi's eyes widened at her realisation, too reckless and shocked that he didn't even realise that the two men was Erwin Smith and Mike Zacharius. They entered without hesitation, shoving past Levi and inspecting the place. Levi made his way to the living room and quickly jumping in the closet with Kaori. "There's a trapdoor here. Escape here." Levi muttered to her, taking her hand reluctantly before climbing into darkness.
"There's nothing here. Thank you, Levi Ackerman." Erwin sighed, before he realised Levi had disappeared. "Mike. Scents?" Mike's nose ruffled through the tense air, desperate for any signs of their victims. Only to find the horrific smell of stale bread and too much cleaning products.
"Sorry, Commander. Too many smells for me to handle." Mike groaned. His failure made him feel useless.
"We will return early in the morning tomorrow, for now we will get some rest. The whole house seems to be empty, so Levi must have the hooded cloak hidden." Erwin breathed, "Somewhere, somehow." He gazed up at the ceiling, painful to hear his own words of failure.
However, little did he know, he was right above the two victims of several crimes.

Hello, fellow readers! Hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it! Also, sorry for this, but this is the first story I'm actually trying to write in full detail. So, I apologise if it all didn't make any sense, I can't seem to find the right words for these kind of situations!
