Finn's Pov

I pull up to my house and walk inside to see Maria carrying some dishes into the kitchen. "Maria, did you feed Callie?" I ask following her into the kitchen. "Yes Finn I did because that girl hasn't eaten in two days and has been put through too much." She says. "I told you not to feed her until I told you to." I say raising my voice.

"Finn, don't you dare raise your voice at me. I'll still whip your ass if I have to. Now back to Callie, you need to lighten up on her. What she's gone through over the past month is probably too much for her. Maybe if you tried talking to her she wouldn't be so mad towards you and wouldn't call you names. You may have changed over the years but even I know deep down you're still the caring and loving boy. So instead of getting mad at the fact I fed her, go up and talk to her and resolve your issues because if she's going to be kept here, you should at least let her out of that room." Maria tells me.

I sigh and decided not to argue with her anymore since I knew I wasn't going to win this argument. "Even if I wanted to talk to her, she still thinks I'm an ugly monster. There's probably no way she'll forgive me after everything I've done to her." I tell her. "Just attempt to talk to her Finn." She says pushing me out of the kitchen.

I sigh and start walking up the stairs towards Callie's room. When I reach her room, I knock on it softly before entering. She looks over at me with fear in her eyes so I say, "Please don't look at me like that. I'm not going to hurt you." I walk over to her and take the shackles off her legs and sit down next to her.

She looks at me shocked so I say, "If I'm going to keep you here, then I need to learn to start trusting you." "Why are you being nice to me?" She asks looking at me. "Because I don't want you to be scared of me, I'm not going to hurt you." I tell her. "How do I know that? If you forgot, I still have marks on my leg from when you were kidnapping me." She snaps.

"I only did that because at the time I wanted you to be scared of me, but now I don't because believe it or not, I actually do care about you. No matter how many times I've tried to hurt you, I can't because I've grown attached to you." I say. "Finn, no offense, but it's kind of hard to believe what you just said. I really want to believe you, but it's going to take some time getting used to." She says slowly.

"I know it's going to take some time, but we have to start somewhere right?" I ask. "So how are we supposed to build this trust besides you taking the shackles off?" She asks. "Well, I was thinking we can get to know each other a little better." I say.

"Well what do you want to know?" She asks. "Let's start off with the basics. Your name, birthday, age, favorite color, things like that." I say. "Well my name is Callie Madison, my birthday is August 7, I'm 27 years old, my favorite color is Red, and that's really about it. My life is really boring." She says.

"Well my name is Finn Balor,  my birthday is July 25, I'm 34 years old, my favorite color is also red. I basically stay in my house unless my job needs me." I tell her. "What about your family?" She asks. I tense up and let out a shaky breath. "You don't have to tell me unless you want to. I'm not going to pressure you into telling me anything." She says.

"Yeah, maybe I can tell you another time because it's kind of a hard story to tell." I tell her. "I can understand, my family left me when I was only 15. So I had to live off of friends until I got a job to afford a small apartment. The only reason why I have a house was because my dad died and all of his inheritance was giving to me." She tells me. "That must've been hard for you." I say. "It was in the beginning, but I got used to it." She says. "I feel bad for not telling you about my family." I say. "No don't feel bad, it was a touchy topic for you and I don't want you to think I'm pressuring you into telling me things you're not comfortable with." She tells me.

I nod and look towards the window and see something moving outside, so I stand up and open the window. "Kevin what the hell are you doing here!" I yell at him. He looks at me shocked and starts stuttering, "U-Uh the b-boss wants to s-see you t-t-tomorrow." "Cut the bullshit, we both know you would've called. Now tell me why you were standing outside this window!" I exclaim.

"I'm here because I wanted to talk to you about something important in person." He says. I pinch the brim of my nose and say, "If you're not at the front door by the time I get there, I'm going to kill you personally."

He nods his head and starts running. I look over at Callie and say, "You can roam the house, just stay away from my room which is on the far end of this hallway. Do not go to the basement and do not listen to the conversation I'm about to have with one of my employees. Just go downstairs and have Maria show you around."

She nods and I walk out heading towards the front door. "Now you have 5 seconds to explain why you were looking in her window." I say to Kevin pushing him against the wall.

Callie's Pov

I slowly walk out of my room and head downstairs to see Maria. When I walk in the kitchen, she looks at me with wide eyes. "He took them off?" She says. "Shockingly enough yeah." I say sitting down at one of the barstools.

"Did he tell you to do anything?" She asks. "He wanted me to look around the house but to stay away from his room and basement." I tell her. "Well if you want,  I can show you around. I'm done in here until one of you gets hungry." She says. I nod and she leads me out of the kitchen. While she's showing me around, I hear yelling.

"So what exactly does Finn do?" I ask. "Well I'm not really supposed to tell you, but he's basically a puppet for a gang. They use him and just toss him away until they need him again. It's the stupidest thing ever." She says. "Well does he know they use him?" I ask. "Probably not, he only does it for the money." She says.

I open my mouth to say something, but Finn walks through the door and slams it. He starts mumbling things to himself so I walk forward but Maria puts her hand on my shoulder to stop me.

I look at her with apologetic eyes and shrug her hand off of my shoulder and continue walking over to Finn. His hands are tugging at the roots of his hair so I grab them to stop him from pulling his hair out.

He stops mumbling to himself and tightens his grip on my hands. His breathing starts calming down but his grip on my hands stays the same.

He looks up and just stares at me. We stand there in silence just looking at each other, but after a while, Finn breaks eye contact and let's go of my hands.

He sends a nod my way and walks upstairs to his room. I stand there at the bottom of the staircase wondering why he calmed down so quickly when I grabbed his hands and why he stared at me for so long.
