It was morning, a nice day of autumn, the cold breeze hitting us as it advice a cold weather tonight. It would probably snow. I stirred in bed as I heard the phone ringing. Complaining as usual, I dragged my body out of bed and walked towards the spacious living room, hoping it would be some familiar wanting to greet me Merry Christmas.
"Speak" I said as I answered the phone.
"Nice to hear you're on a good mood" The voice on the other line said. I raised my eyebrow and glared at nothing.
"What is it now?"
"You got a new job baby, don't fuck it up this time" he spoke laughing. I licked my lips and nodded.
"Just tell me the details and I'm on it" I said with little sympathy on my voice.
"You'll be receiving a letter anytime today, and please, burn it as soon as you memorize it CL, we don't need any mistakes on this one" he said. I chuckled and nodded.
"Sure honey, I know the drill" I said. He laughed.
"One more thing... Don't get involved" He finally said. I nodded and hung up. I took a deep breath and threw my phone towards a mirror next to me. The mirror shattered into a million pieces, and as the pieces fell, I watched myself on the mirror.
"Disgusting" I said before turning around and walking towards the kitchen. As I entered the spacious space of my Penthouse, I saw a funny looking figure holding a letter on top of my counter. I scoffed and took the piece of paper.

"Great, South Korea..." I said while grabbing a lighter and burning the paper. I probably would be celebrating, it if wasn't almost 13 hours away from here.
As the paper burned, the door bell rang continuously, waking me up from the small trance the fire gave me. Hastily, I walked towards the door, in an attempt to scream at whoever was knocking so early in the morning.
As I opened the door, a small figure with a smiling face greeted me. I raised an eyebrow at her, with her silly hair and weird clothes.
"Hello CL, gonna let me in?" She asked looking at me with those big and rounded eyes. I rested on the door frame and crossed my eyes, eyeing her suspiciously.
"Why would I?" I asked her. She laughed and clapped her hands.
"They told me you were like this" She said pushing me aside and walking in. I quickly grabbed her arm and turned her around, ready to kick her ass. She just smiled and jumped, doing some acrobatic movement, pushing me towards the wall, holding me in place. "Easy now cat woman, I'm your new partner!" She said then let me go. I raised an eyebrow.
"Why would I need a partner?" I told her. She smiled and winked at me.
"I'm Sandara Park, but you can just call me Dara for short" She said extending her hand at me. I looked at it skeptically before extending my hand and shaking hers.
"I'm Lee Chaerin, but I guess you already know that" I said. She smiled and nodded.
"We're going to be the best of friends!" She said doing a pathetic peace sign with her hand and nodding weirdly.
"Not if you keep acting like that" I told her walking towards the kitchen.
Dara walked around my apartment, checking out every detail of it, or shall I say, checking if the place was safe enough for us to talk in here. I walked towards her at the living room and handed her a sealed can of soda.
"It's safe in here, it's my home" I told her. She smiled and grabbed the can, cleaned the top of it with her shirt and opened it. I smiled and opened mine, sitting down at my sofa.
"So, are you prepared for your long trip CL?" She said sitting on the sofa in front of me. I sipped my soda and nodded.
"Unfortunately" I said crossing my legs.
"Are you always this talkative?" She asked crooking her head to the side. I smiled hypocritically and nodded.
"I'm so charming" I said. She laughed and stood up. "Where are you going missy?" I asked her. She smiled and winked at me.
"I'm not too fond of being late, so we need to pack your stuffs now" She said showing me the little clock she had on her left wrist. I nodded and stood up. She followed me towards my room, gaping at the size of my bedroom.
"They sure pay you good" She said looking from left to right. I scoffed and walked towards my closet.
"They pay enough for a living" I said. She laughed and sat on my bed.
"Well, after all, you're the one who have the dirty job" She said checking some pictures on my bedside table. I chuckled and grabbed a backpack from one of the drawers and started to fill it with random clothes I would probably need.
After I was done packing my only luggage, meaning the backpack, I went out and grabbed some shoes. She looked at me with wide eyes as I put on my black stilettos.
"Are you done packing?" She asked. I nodded and grabbed the backpack, putting it on my back.
"Shall we go now?" I said. She looked back at my closet then at my backpack.
"Are you sure? I don't think you have what you need in there" She said pointing at my backpack. I laughed and nodded.
"I can buy something when we get there, don't worry. Is this your first mission?" I asked her. She nodded shyly. I laughed some more and walked towards her. "Don't worry Dara, I'll be a good mentor" I said patting her shoulder. She smiled and nodded.
"You're not that bad after all" She said smiling. I raised an eyebrow and crooked my head at her.
"They said I was bad?" I asked her as we walked out of the room. She nodded and extended her arms as if punching the air.
"They said you were evil!" She told me. I couldn't help but laugh as we entered the elevator.
"I guess I am" I said. She smiled and made that pathetic peace sign again.
"I'll get the best of you, I swear!" She said. I scoffed and looked at the door.
"Good luck" I said with no emotions on my voice.
We both arrived at the airport after almost have an hour of driving. She had some mad skill at driving, a great advantage on my side. We both walked towards the lane, she was wearing some thick glasses, so was I. She smiled at the guy with the metal detector; she was beautiful, so pretty the guy got mesmerized by her, allowing us to enter without having to go through the metal detector. Points for us, wouldn't be great if it actually beeped.
"I'm a good partner aren't I?" She said as we walked towards the tunnel that lead us to the jet. I laughed and nodded.
"Definitely" I said. She didn't spoke anymore as we entered the jet. The flight attendant was nice enough to lead us to our seat. I inhaled deeply as I took my sit, silently saying my farewells to the States.
