Dear Carithe Kelburg,
I am certain by this time you are of the age I was, when the kingdom Taddorisia fell. I can still remember the time we lost the stars, by now they must only be of legend. I'm sure you've noticed anomalies once or twice in your life, glimpses. It is time to reveal your destined power.
In his kingdom, my father enacted a law prohibiting magic, which if not followed, death would come as punishment. We were cursed by the high Priestess of the eastern coven. This Priestess, (Witch) of great renown had tried to convince my father that magic would do him no wrong. But, he wouldn't have it. My father, the king, sentenced the Witch for execution, not knowing the consequences it would bring. This angered the eastern coven who rose up against the king into a disastrous conflict.
I was too young to do anything, all I could do was watch from our western tower. It was gruesome. Shots of light and fire pierced body and bone annihilating my father's army. Some of the witches of the coven changed to the form of beasts and spirits. I had never seen anything so dark and daunting as what was displayed before me. Through a window everything seemed so surreal. The witches stood over my father, he was helpless.
Something grew within my young heart, I thought to myself, "someone help!","save my father!" My heart beating strongly within my chest, my feet began to act and I found myself quickly descending the steps towards the king. The world was just so blurry. Running down the street, I was aghast, there was a sabre protruding through the rib cage of our king. He was dead in the middle of the courtyard. My knees hit the ground, I felt like I had rotted away before my time.
The priestess approached me, her silhouette darkened the moonlight. She stared down at me. Fearful, the villagers gathered around us in shock at the sight of their lifeless king. This high priestess had then spoke, raising her head to look at the villagers in anguish.
"I hereby punish this land for it's unruly laws and measures. Let it be known throughout all four kingdoms of Acarthia that the Dynasty of Drulliys is the reason you are cursed to live forever without stars! Your sky's light must now disappear from this world! The fate and succession of your lives will be left to the generations of the daughters of Drulliys! Only they can save you!" She informed the crowds.
The news spread throughout Acaritha as if it were a wild forest fire. Threats were made in our fault, which brought the curse. Armies arose in anger breaking walls and burning houses. People tried their best to move away in hopes of safety, but once the others knew that they came from our country of Taddorisia, they were slaughtered. Our lands became meager and begging for forgiveness. The stars disappeared one by one, except for our sun, it stayed. I never understood why it never even began to die away.
Taddorisia had been stricken with war and ridicule. Eventually, There had grown to only be three kingdoms of Acarthia. I had left the kingdom shortly after the canons of Mitallas were fired. I escaped with shame, unable to help those who died in that massacre. I went to live with my grandmother who was a potions master in the far land of Newbrooke. I grew up there going by the name Asher Gilhorn.
Over time, I rose in hopes to repair the devastation and destruction that I was responsible as the heir of Taddorisia. I found that I possessed something powerful, the magic of light. I took time chasing after books and running my fingers through pages, practicing as much as was possible.
I was fully taught by the immortal of light, Kazala. The immortals are thought of as gods, each of them held the power of a different kind of magic. None of them were born immortal, they had to earn it. Go to kazala for guidance and questions. Though I must warn you, he will try to shut you out or kill you. You might find him running a library in the west isles of farlash. I also recommend a collection of books he has written, which can only be obtained after you have been properly vetted by this immortals.
That is all I can remember of late. My time ends here, my life is shortly to come to its end. I failed to save Acarthia, I am in high hopes that you might succeed where I have failed. My power is yours, use it well.
Your ancestor,
Aurora Drulliys
