Natsu x Reader: A Midnight Chase

It was currently nighttime in Magnolia. Stores had closed, guilds were empty, and citizens were asleep------save for you.

              Nighttime was a time to relax. A time for all people and animals to rest and regain energy. To you, however, it was a time to think about life and curl up with a good book.

              Yawning, you continued to read (F/B), getting so into the book that you failed to realize someone was walking toward the guild door.

                Suddenly, the guild doors swung open, surprising you greatly as you fell off your chair.

               "Wh-who's there?" you asked, trying to keep your cool. It was certainly a strange thing, someone visiting the guild so late at night.

               As if recognizing who you were, the figure standing at the doorway walked toward you, a huge grin on their face.

               "Hey, (Y/N)! What are you doing here so late at night?"

               "I could ask you the same thing, Natsu," you replied, as you stood up, relieved he wasn't a burglar.

               "Well, I was gonna go to your apartment and draw all over your face with permanent markers, but you weren't there, so I followed your scent here!"

                "You were gonna do what?!" you yelled, glaring at him, a hint of amusement in your voice.

                "I brought dozens of markers to prove it!" Natsu yelled, not sensing your annoyance and instead bringing out a few permanent markers.

                You stared at him dumbfounded until a plan came to you.

                 You put on a surprised expression and looked toward the door behind Natsu. "U-um Natsu? I think Zeref's at the door...."

                  "What?!" Natsu turned his head towards the door, giving you enough time to snatch the markers away from him.

                He turned back towards you. "You li-!" Noticing you had already uncapped the markers, he stopped his sentence and ran. "You can't use my plan against me!"

                You grinned cheekily and ran off after him, markers in your hands, prepared to strike......

               In the morning, Mira found a surprise on the floor as she entered the guild. She smiled and quickly put a blanket over you and Natsu, who had a few marker drawings on his face. Walking away, she made up a ship name for you two and prepared to announce it to the whole guild.
