What Is Time?

Hey! My first poem! If you don't know who I am, pop over to DazedWeed's page and read 'One Kiss...' then you'll understand!

*By the way, this isn't a real person, it's a character for my story* :)

What marks the passing of time?

A touch softer than a feather,

The dropping of a dime.

What makes time so dear?

A sweet kiss goodnight,

A car grinding into fifth gear.

Time is like a beast,

Hunting, prowling for your blood,

Know now that your life is leased.

You can’t escape from time, no matter what they say,

No such thing as Blue boxes and time-turners,

Time lies on your back, and there it will stay.

Crevices and wrinkles map out faces,

Drawing lines that must be walked upon,

Time does love a good chase.

So if you happen to come it in time for tea,

Do not be afraid, nor bow down before it,

Simply say: “Hello, good friend, how good you have been to me.”
