"Who did you choose?" Holly asked. I sighed, knowing I'd have to answer her before she practically squeezed it out of me and knowing Holly, she'd do just that.

"Liam." I tell her, nodding when seeing her shocked expression.

"I'm going to be honest Serena, I thought you'd pick Trent. Was he not your first crush?" Holly asked, sitting on my bed and trying to process what I said.

"See, I thought about that and you know what? Screw whoever I met first. Harry met Hermione first, but he chose Ginny. Elena met Steffan first, but she constantly alternates between him and Damon. Hell, even Spongebob met Sandy first but he's seen with Pearl in romantic situations." I tell her. I can't stand the argument that just because you met someone first or liked them first, it automatically meant that you were meant to be with them. Even though Liam himself implied that who you met first indicated the ending, I had my own philosophies to live by.

"Wait, you watch the Vampire Diaries?" Holly asked, squinting.

"It's a guilty pleasure and besides the point." I wave off.

"Um, whatever you say, but just so you know, technically Damon met Elena first." She says quickly. I quirk an eyebrow at that because did she just reveal that she too watches it?

"So...Liam huh?" She asks, giggling. "It's who I set you up with so long ago and you were so against it." She teases.

"Yeah yeah." I tell her, shoving her off of my bed. "Now let me sleep will you? It's been hours since I've been able to relax." I sigh dramatically, jumping into bed before immediately whining at the lack of bedsheets because Holly had crumpled them up earlier on when I claimed I wasn't going to prom.

"Good night Serena. I hope you find everything you're looking for." She whispers softly, heading out of my room for the night.

"I hope the same for you." I whisper into the air, though my words were sincere toward Holly. She deserved everything and more. From not being angry about my feelings for Uranus to the lack of attention from her parents, Holly was a saint. She deserved better than what she was given in life.

"So what did you want to talk about?" Uranus asks, sitting on the bench beside me with his dog. It seemed only yesterday that I found Buzz in the street, scrounging the trash for food before he found his way home. A lot had happened since then.

"Us. Or the lack of us thereof." I say awkwardly, not sure how to do this without sounding pretty heartless and cruel.

"You like Liam." He stated. It both bothered and surprised me that it wasn't even a question to him. He just sort of knew that's where this was heading.

"How'd you figure that?" I ask, clenching my eyes shut. It was so unfair. I pretty much led Uranus on, but I couldn't help what I felt. It was like when I couldn't like Liam no matter how hard I tried. My feelings were helpless.

"Well, usually when a girl says we need to talk and looks all serious, it calls for a break up. Granted, I've only been broken up with once." He joked weakly, braving a smile. Wow. Was I that obvious?

"Also, Holly might have warned me." He added in, making me roll my eyes. That girl's mouth moved faster than she could keep up with. I know she always meant well, but that didn't stop the irritation from flowing.

"I'm sorry?" I try, but she only laughs pitifully.

"Don't be. Listen, I don't want to ruin another relationship with someone. Holly already distanced herself from me. We were never really together so can we just be friends and pretend the romance part never happened?" He asks, petting Buzz's ears to avoid direct eye contact with me. It was enough for me to infer he was nervous of my answer.
