Y/n.
That's her name. Y/n. Simple as that. No last name, no middle name, no parents. For a bit of her life, she'd been alone.
At 4 years old, she was thrown out of her home and left with a bracelet. When the police had found her lying in the road, they took her to the hospital and asked her questions there. All she knew was her first name, her birthday and that she had been hurt by her 'family'. The doctors had told them that due to the head trauma she got, it caused her to block off memories.
It took a month or so, but after searching around the city and heavy interrogation, they deemed her no family. Seems they had left town.
So they sent her to the Orphanage. Y/n was five at the time, but she was bright and quick to make friends. The Orphanage was okay.
She was allowed to get a cat, she had friends, and she liked to help out. It was all she wanted!
Word got out around the city, and not even two months later, she was adopted.
At first, she was hyped up! She just got a dad! Having no recollection of her previous family, she didn't have any idea what it would be like to have a family. Nothing to compare it to.
The first two years were amazing! Slade was a great dad. He held Y/n when she was scared, gave her comforting whispers when she cried, and he'd get her many things. He was a great father!
...that is, until Y/n turned eight. She was having a fit over nothing, when he hit her for the first time. She was stunned into silence. As punishment for misbehaving (previously, she would only have to go to time out), she had to stay in her room all day with her cat, Diamond.
It only got worse from there. Slade became more aggresive over the years, hurting her for the simplest of things, and becoming obsessed with power.
When Y/n reached the age of twelve years old, Slade began to train her.
Harshly.
She wasn't allowed to call him dad anymore, just 'master' or 'Slade'. Very rarely did she get to call him father, but that was on special occasions.
Y/n was eventually pulled out of school, and everything she thought she knew was thrown out of the bag. The rules were different.
Her bad became her good. What Slade taught her was that heroes are evil. He drilled it into her mind, and punished her if she even mentioned being 'nice' or anything related to 'heroes'(which made no sense to her, but she was too scared to say anything). Pain. No mercy. That's what he said.
Y/n was sent out on missions, and was severely punished when she failed. In fact, she got punished for most things; not obeying, talking softly, doing anything 'evil', etc etc. Y/n had bailed out of killing someone on one of her missions, and was punished by Slade. He murdered her cat, and threw her into a time out room.
Which was basically a torture room.
Slade would leave her in there for days without food or water, and whip her til she was numb to the bone. Only after her punishments would she get treated like a normal human being. Slade would nurse her back to the point where she could help her self, and then left her for a few weeks.
So she learned not to piss off Slade. It wasn't enough.
To make sure that his daughter did what she was told, he took her bracelet she was left with and put a metal tracking chip in her neck. If she went somewhere she wasn't supposed to, the chip would shock her. If she failed, it would stun her brain for a while, effectively 'short circuiting' it. If she pissed slade off, it would do both.
