Alone, I lay and wonder,
Do you ever think of me?
When you're laying in your bed at night,
Instead of dreaming sweeter dreams.
Did I make an impact?
Did I make you see?
Am I someone you still think about
Instead of dreaming sweeter dreams?
I think of you sometimes
And I wonder if there could be
A place for me in your future;
Because there's a place for you with me.
I know i shouldn't hope for
Something that cannot be.
So I sleep instead of thinking,
And try to dream a sweeter dream.
But nothing sweeter comes,
And the night turns into day,
And once again I awaken
To a lonely, cold dismay.
No thought is more painful,
Than what could've been.
But no dream is sweeter
Than what could be again.
So I keep dreaming of you,
And hope you dream of me.
I put it in the hands of fate
That our second chance will be.

No Sweeter Dream
PoetryThis is a poem about hoping you mattered enough for someone to think of you even after a relationship ends. It's about hoping you mean as much to them as they mean to you, and wishing for a second chance.
